GET THE WARRANTY!!! My parents have had two of them. One was new and didn't have any problems but they have a 07 with 50k on it and its been nothing but problems, all electrical too. Just this week some SOS failure happened or something and now the radio doesn't work or anything, and the electric water pump went out at under 50k some how. There nice can but hard to troubleshoot.

Nice, I'm enjoying mine. Got over 35mpg on a 180 mile trip today. I actually drove about 20 miles in 4th gear (the revs were similar to my m20 at highway speeds, i only noticed when i went to pass someone and had way more power than i expected), and i used a/c too.

On the highway its pretty easy to keep it between 30-50mpg.. i think i can do better. :)

Nice man! I couldn't imagine working on one, and not because I don't like them but how much more complicated it is compared to a m20! I would get the warranty just for that fact, plus parts I bet are triple the price of e30's.

Congrats. I came into it the opposite way with the e90 first, which led me to the e30.

Really? I have trouble getting 30 mpg sometimes, doing around 70 mph with cruise control on in 6th gear. I have brand new injectors, plugs, and coils too

OP the warranty is def a must. I just put new turbos on mine and water pump.. and on the third oil filter housing

Love mine when she's running though!

I don't think I am going to go for an extended warranty most sound like scams that try to weasel out of paying for anything.

I owned a 2004 Duramax and did head gaskets and injectors on that which was a total PITA I bought an extended warranty for that paid $2,400 and nothing broke until after the warranty.

I doubt the E90 is any harder to work on the HPFP is warrantied to 10 yrs 120K

I know the water pump may go at some point but I will just put some money aside for repairs.

If I wanted a boring reliable car I could have bought a brand new accord.

You have to pay to play the E30 is not going anywhere so as long as both are not broke down I will be ok

Now I have two. The wife and I went up to Canada and picked up an '06 325xit 6-speed last night. I wish it had the same level of options as mine, but coming from the Subaru, it's a huge step up. Now I think the Subaru is even more of a POS than I did before. Mostly I wish it had the comfort access system and Bluetooth. I'll have to look into retrofitting those.

She hasn't driven it yet but I already know she's never going to want to drive the Subaru again. I can't wait to be rid of it.

We seem to have good luck crossing the border with imported cars for some reason. The first one my wife brought down 5 years ago they never even looked at. This time he did go outside but he literally stepped out the door, saw the car and came back in. lol. Maybe it helped that I knew all the rules and had all the paperwork done. They were really nice and even made suggestions on how I could use the receipts for tax purposes next year. lol

It only has KM's on the speedometer which I need to fix. The lot we bought it from was supposed to do it but he literally printed some stickers and placed them on the face of the cluster. it looks terrible and they never would have accepted it if they'd looked. fortunately E90 clusters are pretty cheap.

also once you get used to the start button and turn signals, it's weird to get into a "normal" car that uses a key and requires you to manually deactivate the signals. Every time I get back into her car I get confused as to what to do with the key and want to push the start button, especially since mine has comfort access and I just leave the "key" in my pocket.

Intake, Tune, Downpipes, Intercooler. Add a 40% corn mix, hurt all the cars you can. If you have questions, I've been through it all.

Sharp car. I kinda miss my stock wheels.
