    bbs with green lips... update.

well latly I have been busy at work. here is some of my progress.

I have taken these wheels from rags to riches. heres some pics of the progress

First I had to remove all the old paint. This was teribly hard. Well since the paint which was actually powder coat. I had to go back and forth between sandblasting them and using a wire brush and aircraft stripper. This took many hours. after I got them all cleaned up I finialy got started on the lips. I went from 100grit to around the 600s and used a finishing pad to finish them. Then used some mothers aluminum and mag plolish to try and shine them up. Then they were off to the the car wash to do a finial cleaning befor I wrapped them.

Wrapping them took way longer than I thought. It took about 4 hours.

paper removed and rims sprayed all down with clear = sex

Now I have to wait untill I get tires and 10 mm wheel spacers.
which will prolly take a month. But that will give some good time for the paint to cure completly.
BTW, it took 3 cans of black and 2 cans of clear.

    the other project. m30 afm + "i" throttle-body

here it is on the car.

My next step is to make an aluminum sheet metal box to keep the hot air out of the filter and to keep tweeking it till I find the max power. I also slotted out the backspaces in my grill to help air get back into the engine.

Here are some pics of my car after a good washing.

    THE END

Wow, that looks seriously good. Did you have access to media blasting equipment or did you have a shop do it for you? I refinished a set of wheels one time. Lets just say I did'int spend as much time on them as you did on yours lol.

Yeah at my work I had a sandblaster and i'd blast them during lunch time. Yeah dude it took forever. and while sanding the lips up, i got so much crud everywere. aluminum dust is deadly.

All that work and you rattle canned them? Why did you not spend a little more and have them powder coated? It would have been far more durable than spray paint to brake dust.

No shit? I have been blasting aluminum w/out any breathing protection, so I guess that's not so good huh? I'll have to do something about that.

Oh, and the wheels look seriously badass, only I would have liked to have seen the centers in silver rather than black. Not that it matters seeing as how they are YOUR wheels ;).

well aluminum to the body is toxic. and sanddust in blasters isnt good for the body eather. I think you should where a mask next time. BTW i sprayed these with out a mask. I regret it after bloweing out my nose. i knew i should have. I even had one. i guess was I was just lazy.

Im going for a black and bronzit and red theme for now.
