BMW aparently will order new stickers for the car, with enough proof and hoop jumping....so I have been told.

I'm sure it wouldn't be very hard to reproduce those stickers anyways to a degree that would fool 90% of people who would look at them.

I would never do it though because theres no reason to try to pass it off as original when its clearly not.

Great story and glad another e30 M3 is being rescued and not by a troll but a BMW fan.

The fuck is with you guys telling OP to pay the kid that hinted at the car?

If someone told you where to find an fully rebuilt M20 for $200 would you give them $100 just cause they saved you a couple bucks? Highly doubt it.

I would, but that's me. If someone told me a way to find something I wanted badly, for very little money, I would, but again, that's just who I am.

Especially if the person was a young kid. (I am probably older than most here)
Even a few bucks can change a persons perception of people in general.

            Karma is huge to me.

I'd probably buy the kid lunch and give him a ride when it's done, but giving him a grand is way the fuck over the top.

Really? yeah, it's a lot of cash, but If you saw the car for $3500 would you have still bought it? Yeah, me too. If buying a car like this for $1000 more is a financial burden for you, you should spend your money elsewhere.

What's the difference? Not much to me, but probably a hell of a lot to the kid I would have gave the grand to.

This is what's wrong with our culture. We are willing to take advantage of each other for our personal gain, without so much as a thought about it.

A very young kid is subjective when I'm only 21, hes practically one of my peers.

Its one thing if the kid personally showed him the car, and introduced him to the seller. But OP did pretty much all the work himself, so really, no finders fee is in order.

That's why I mentioned I was an older guy. .......and you are a younger guy:)

I look at it this way. I bought a car I had no idea existed, based on information given to me by.......this guy, for $2500. I would not have the car were it not for him. I could easily, easily, sell the car for $12k inside one week on the forums. Profit $9500 for free info given to me by this.......guy. Or, spend 10k and rebuild the motor and clean it up and get 25+k for it, with a profit of 13k or more.

Yeah, I have no problem giving him a grand.
You guys are just cheap bastards:D

He had to search google maps to find the car. Its not like the guy had a specific address, just a general area of where he thought it was. And by "it" I mean some car. He didn't even know what kind of car it was.

If thats all it takes to deserve a finders fee, I have some money to collect.

                                Yup. Lawyers usually make a third on a referral. So 1/3 x 9500 = $3167.
