The Parrot head unit is no longer for sale. That makes me sad since it's such a great idea. Awesome car BTW.

Thanks, still a lot of work to do, my seats are noisy as hell, and the check control suround trim is falling apart...

Your bahama E30 is one of the nicest color I've seen; your steering wheels look good too !

Bought mine used still under the 2y EU waranty. I know it is possible and simple to swap the white leds for amber ones.

My main problem is to modify the Android OS it runs to have the text displayed in orange/amber instead of white. Don't know how to do it.

Here are pictures of it at night:

So my car is still waiting to be painted, parts just arrived last friday before the long week end here: every part, every glass and rubber joint was removed so I expect a full recovery!!

I decided to shadowline the trim, since the chrome trim is totally faded and you can't order every part of the trim new from BMW.

I renounced to powdercoated the trim as I fear the black satin look will be different from the rest of the door trims.

Beside you have to be able to hook the parts for powdercoats and there is no holes on the shadowline.

About the wheels, now I have a dilemna and need your help...

I'm in the process of selling my IX stock wheels and the Lensos for a good price.

I have the opportunity to buy a set of brand new alpina 16" with a fair discount at my local dealer so I won't have to much to add to replace them with genuine wheels.

I am still a bit hesitant on this.

Yes, Audiquattrot is the living proof 16x7 ET28 alpinas fit graciously on an IX.

But mine is red and I am not sure It will look as nice as on a grey one.

Also, I was wondering if I could go with 16x8 ET28 with 215/50 in the back?

I believe not even if Inside the wheel will be as close to the strut as the stock wheels, but outside I fear I would need to roll fenders or strech as I will be almost 13mm further out than the 16x7 alpinas.

            Can someone confirm this?

My other option is to go BBS RS, but is there any option in 16 or even 15 that can allow us to have a decent dish (like 5cm) without rolling or streching on an IX?

I have read the IX wheels thread again and again, but still not very sure...

Many thanks guys for your help!

i remember not too long ago there was a guy who had a red 325iX w/ the exact same setup as mine. H&R springs & the same 16x7 Alpinas all around. Looked great. I could've sworn he was on here, but if not I think he's on a 325iX facebook group....where he put pics up.

I know 'Kershaw' was running BBS RSs but I don't believe you can fit one with a significant lip. Here is a pic of his.

Thanks for your answer; I am too running H&R and billy HD (with another torn front CV ). My mechanics thinks it the OEM CV quality that is the cause now...

I am still trying to figure out what's best, I see a lot of Red e30 with alpina wheels on google but I haven't been able to find the good Ix facebook group. I'd like to see a red IX with them on. I may have to photoshop yours!

Well, I see that bmw still makes the 16x7.5 Et27 M3 weaves in nogaro grey. Now I have to look if it can fit too!

Got my Ix back for Xmas after two months at the shop...

Car's not finished yet as I have to send it back in january for the sand and polish finish and minor fixes.

Already I am very happy with the result and what was done:

Complete paint job in original color
Trailer's hook & rear spoiler gone (at last!!)
                      Trim in Shadowline
Bmw 'motorsport' door handles from gridmotorwerk (uk)
                      Nardi wheel and hub
                      Is lip
Replaced most window and windshield seals, front windshield, left side bump protector restored bumpers in black.

I missed the sound most of all...

Btw sold my stock and my lenso wheels: still debating wether I stick with RS style rims (But in 16" there's not a lot of choice with 7j width) or go alpina.

Here are a few pics the day I got light's not good sorry.

Here are a few pics under the rain:

Many thanks - I've never been happier with how a project turned!!

This is almost a collective work: my inspirations came from a lot of R3V member's car!

Lot of knowledge and great visions here ;)

Looks fantastic. Man, do I want to get a fresh coat of paint on my car.

I also like the RS! There aren't many wheels that look that good with iX fitment, as you know.
