well im not sure whats 'soft' cuz ive never driven on any other suspension.. like i hear eibach springs are SOFT, so im guessing mines are pretty good.. not too stiff but not too bouncy either .. anyone else got m3 springs? how do they feel to you?

youve probably got suck a small fender gap because you are running oversized wheels

ive got a 1.6 drop and im only a bit less fender gap in the front and roughly the same as you in the rear

can we soo some full on side shots for comparison purposes?

back on topic keep the car fix the rust a swap an m20b25 in there and have fun with it

They are rediculously soft, especially on a 6cyl. E30 that is heavier than an M3.

          RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

whoa back from the dead thread or what heh
not sure if i posted this or not
i have decided to keep the car, swap in an m20b25 and boost it to 14psi.
i will be keeping the interior so dont ask me if you can buy it haha,
i havent decided on what suspension to go with other than bilstein sports, springs = unknown right now, i have a buddy with some 60/60 springs.

i have a holset H1E ready to go on the motor but this long weekend the motor is getting swapped in.

car should debut spring of '07

ill be making a small diary of the cars process with pictures. ill keep ya guys posted.

I really like the look of the FK 60/40 setup and have heard nothing but good reviews. Only wish I could run them in my area, the roads are just to bad.

I say keep it, make it nice, and drop a more powerful motor in it. M20, M50, even and M30 or S50 if your budget will allow.

And not to get off topic... But why the hell does this happen; Every time someone asks a question about an older model or higher mileage model, everyone says to get a newer one??! These are unibody cars people, they don't go soft like American "body on frame" shit! My '81 Euro 635CSi has had Alpina suspension on it for most of its 193,000 miles and it's still as tight as any newer 5 or 6 series (E24 or E28 that is) that I have ever been in! You might notice a difference between a 90,000 mile car that has been babied and a 250,000 mile car that has been beat to shit, but I'll bet that with the suspension fixed up in both cars the worst that you would notice in the higher mileage one would be a couple squeaks or shimmys... And at that point, if it bothers you that much, just cage the motherfucker!! Like I'm doing!!! :pimp:

                I'm done, thanks for listening.

yeah, im thinking of a 4 point cage for stiffening up the chassis, all new bushings/mounts, bigger sways, etc.

i plan on making this car my weekend warrior/ summer cruiser and also an autox car that i can drive to the event and home.

the numbers im planning on reaching are 300whp @ 14psi
slowly building my collection of parts, i have my entire brake parts ready to be put on the car, just going to wait until i have all my suspension and bushing then ill be hosting a "monster garage" weekend. beer and wrenches = fun!
