Could you show us where that is, exactly? The cover not being flush with the body is just killing me. I'm not exactly well versed with convertibles.

You can see the bar that you have to fold under into the compartment in this video somewhere around 1:30

But it sounds like you may want to read this thread, if yours was converted from electric

Mine is still a power top. I didn't convert it I basically just took the rod out that folds the top. So what I have to is bring the back of the top up, raise the top cover with the switch, push the top into the compartment and then use the switch to close the cover. It actually works faster then using power everything lot I hope I can get the top realigned this summer though

So a little update. It's still snowing here got like 3ft of snow over the last week lol I am working on putting new weather stripping on. I started on the passenger side rear quarter. Here's a before and after and also a picture to show what the clips look like so if you want to do yours you can see how it's removed!!

Also I polished up the chrome haha

I can't put everything on yet cause I need to lower my top to have enough room... And the batteries not in the car yet. Also have to do the tail light gasket and my car should be lead free :)

^ I put a set of those on last summer. You don't think they'd make that much of a difference but they totally do.

The wheels are 15" BBS and were originally fitted to Euro spec Golf (Rabbit for you chaps) GTi 16v big bumper spec cars around the late 80s.

These have been refurbed in chalk white with BBS centres. The bottletops are now getting refurbed in Polaris Silver in case I feel the need to go OEM.

Not sure on the white, they might be going back to silver or possibly Dolphin Grey once the bottletops are finished.

Close up of the wheels. They're running 205/55/15 tyres same as 15" Euro baskets.

So a little update... I've been pulling stuff out of my car and got around to removing the amp and the antenna (seems like the teeth are good but the motor is bad) so I have a new headunit on the way and I'll try and use the factory wiring but might just end up wiring each speaker separately... Heres the headunit, tried to keep it fairly simple...

And also found these on Kijiji in my area. I think they're front mud flaps but I'm gonna just make them work for the rear end :) try to fabricate something up.

We got another helping of snow but hopefully over next weekend I'll pull out the dash, replace bulbs in the cluster and tighten down my temp gauge ground. Also I'm gonna pull the seats out and give the carpet a thorough cleaning!!!

So your tonneau cover doesn't wanna close completely either, huh? Same problem. Digging the glacier blue. Getting a little facelift for mine and getting all hyped up for spring!
For the tonneau cover to close tight, just adjust the screw that usually has orange paint to mark it on the back of the cover motor. It is on the left side of the motor, left of the hex key "crank" hole. Turn left until you hear a click. Turn the key on and try the tonneau cover one cycle. If it's not tight when closing, keep turning left and try it out with each new click. If you get to the screw stop, start turning the screw right until it clicks. Keep trying until the tonneau cover closes tight.

On one of my cabrios, the screw holds just fine and I don't have to readjust it. On the other cabrio, I have to readjust it two or three times a year because the screw doesn't hold its position.

                    Good luck!

Hey thanks! I'll give that a try once I get the battery in next weekend. Hopefully it'll work well haha

Another update. Removed the ugly licence plate bracket and drilled some holes into my euro plate and stuck that on till I can find a plate filler. I was proud of myself for thinking of this lol

I got my interior ripped apart and and cleaned the carpet, did the amp bypass and installed a new head unit. It's coming together nicely and just need paint :)

My cars all back together so here's a few pics!

Finally got to take the top off and go for a drive!

And my new head unit installed. I think it looks pretty good and matches the look of the e30. No orange lights just some simple white display.

Got some work done on the vert. Wouldn't start and and went through everything and turned out to be a simple relay that was starting to die. Car starts fine now. Also did a valve adjustment and painted the valve cover. Next up is paint time!!!

Got some work done! Didn't turn out perfect but it went well and the car now is close to the OEM colour :)

                            Before:

So here's as the car was being sprayed..

And some pics of the final product. Think I'll do a light wetsand and buff later on...

I'd say its looking good! Can't wait to take it out this summer!!!
