It's an easy paint job! Took maybe ~2 hours if you include sanding the cover and everything. I'm glad you like it! hahaha dude it can be a struggle. What car was your first? Do you have a build thread? I will keep the pics coming when I get back from France! Waiting to board right now all alone going to be gone for three weeks. I'm also going to order 2 water pump gaskets in case I make a mistake again lol. Thanks for the motivation fyr and good look with your car too!
What do you guys think of the silver before the black?
Nope no build thread on her, she was a 2000 civic si. I've been around the block with em though, had a cpl auras, subarus, mustangs, and currently a forester xt as my daily but im pumped to have a compact coupe with RWD!
The white is so gross up close so I started peeling it. I might make the outside look like an 80's jacket or some stupid shit. I may paint it this cool blue that's much better than the bright blue, and get some rs reps or something in a while once it's legal. The oil sender I got didn't fit so I ordered one of the oil filter adapters. The motor mounts finally came in yesterday, the next day off they are going in!
The alpine dreams are coming alive 😃
Getting down to the alpine is quite time consuming, which sucks because I've been working 10+ hour days. I have to peel the white (if it's thick enough) and then spray paint stripper on the blue. Most parts have been cooperative but the hood and spoiler don't want to budge with the paint stripper, so I'm gonna paint those. Work is good for the $ which will soon be used for a shifter rebuild + tranny swap at a friends. I have a stock tranny that supposedly has all 5 gears working not just four. The friend is Sam and he tore the t belt at 6k here is the carnage
REPLACE THE TB if you don't know when it was last done! He is putting in a new m20.
Once the alpine comes through all the way I am probably going to Source 2 new caps and make the weaves OEM looking or keep em black. Then it's time for a drop and a skid plate, or sell this one. I want to keep it but my body work skills are no where near what I think they need to be.
