Got the headliner fixed and began the test fit. I don't like the wrinkles so I will have to reposition them before the glue down, which will take a few days. I'll take my time and do it right, otherwise I'll hate myself and the headliner and probably never drive the car.
Once the headliner is in, the rest goes in very quickly and then I can drive the car.
Hey guys. I'm the new owner. Spent months finding a dry roundie and sort of stumbled into Ryan's car. You'll definitely see the car around the westside of LA. I'm looking forward to long relationship with her :D
I was approached by a friend of a friend and he offered a substantial amount and I accepted.
besides, it's staying local. I'm sure you'll see it around. I should probably take this time to focus on the tii and finish the 1600. The tii is the car I really want to put some serious time into. That car deserves it.

totally. It's giving me such a headache. But now I want to do it to the tii. Shoot me now.
Yesterday I threw on a spare IE stainless exhaust system, on the 72 2002. I'm actually a little sad because these are it's last days with me. It has found another home, allowing me to focus on the handful of other ones I have on my plate, and the others that are on their way.
At idle, the sound didn't change at all. At speed and WOT, the exhaust note is a bit deeper and more aggressive. It's actually quite nice. I like the system. I can't confirm, but the car does feel faster according to the butt dyno. This is one car I'll miss. Everything works on it. And I really do mean everything.
unless its going to be a show car, the headliner is going to get a little dirty anyways. I redid mine and after 5 years its a little marked here and there. but it's so much nicer than the original was. the headliner is a pain to stretch correctly. bmw makes these little metal clips that can be used to hold the headliner in place once you got it positioned/stretched.
Give the malaga it's own thread. Every 2002 is special, like a snowflake but sometimes like a short bus.
I'm giving up on the 1600 headliner. I followed the installation guide currently on the FAQ and the first thing that happens after I slip in the headliner bows and install in their correct holes, is a nice big split in the headliner and now I can see the bow from INSIDE THE CAR. I almost lit the whole shop on fire, I was so pissed.
So I called Coupeking and asked them to do it for me. It's going to cost me some coin, but f that. I can't even handle this right now.
Erik at Coupeking told me that BMW's headliners have been splitting very easily over the last year of production, and that he has been sending his out for reinforcement. I may have to do the same. But I'm afraid to take it out because it's so new and light colored, that even looking at it wrong will make it dirty.
