Just signed up on R3V, & so far it looks like an awesome resource!
I picked up this ES last Tuesday. It was in what I would call fair condition. The motor seemed to run well, and the previous owner had owned it for quite a while and "he kept up on it". I saw some potential in it, and here we are. These were the known issues- Cracked dash, cracked, but still decent seats, a rough spoiler, a vibration at 30mph, the driver window was not working, the stereo was not working, a brake service light, the inspection light, the anti-lock light, a washer fluid light (PO claimed tank leaked), and the paint was faded/rough.

I got her home & went right to it. I reset the service lights, I found that someone had hooked up a short 12" overflow line off of the feed line to the squirters, easy fix for the "leak" and the service light. For the drivers window I went right to the switch. Popped it off and found it un plugged, master mechanic over here! Pulled the stereo, found the fuse blown, Nascar crew chief kind of stuff!
For the paint, it's a work in progress, it needs some serious love, but it's improving quite a bit. Unfortunately it has a few burned out spots that will not be revived with any amount of buffing.

His explanation was a vibration at 30mphs, the reality was the drive shaft punching the floor board on any decent load, at any speed. I ordered up a CCB and Guibo before I even got under it. My suspicions were right.

I had also noticed it did not sound too great. The exhaust pipe was completely broken loose from the muffler. I am not a fan of loud exhaust. I've had luck with Walkers in the past, and what I picked up is basically an oem replacement muffler. I ran out of time to really mount the muffler as nicely as I'd like, I am definitely going to tuck it up more.
