Everybody wants a stock car yet no body really wants a stock car. Nothing wrong with the mods he has planned as they are basic. I'd add a chip or alpha N to that list as well. Wheels, suspension, tail lights are all easy to change. Just keep the stock parts.
That's the perfect way to put it. I'm sure majority of people could agree with it.
Side question, I was reading on s14.net chips might not be the best thing for these cars? Someone went into great detail on how retarding the spark timing to the last second can cause a ton of stress on the rod bearings, and eventually spin them. I don't think there's direct evidence to the chip causing it but the thought of a rod bearing spinning on a s14 gives me chills.

Some chips are fine. The chip that had the most controversy was the turner chip, as it brings the motor to the very edge of lean-ness and is argued to have helped blow many s14s.

A chip is the best bang for your buck on a stock M3. The gains are comparable to a chipped ETA...night and day. In fact, I'd be surprised if there wasn't already a chip installed. TMS/JC chip was the best chip you could buy for a long time. I've ran it over 15 years on Cali 91 gas with minimal bearing damage when I rebuilt it a few years back. The problem is the chip was developed on 93 and has very aggressive timing so it can cause detonation especially under load and people are blaming the tune for hammered rod bearings. It gave more HP/torque than Dinan, Autothority, etc which is why it was so popular. The CA 91 iggomotive chip has been spectacular in my white M3 yielding good power with no detonation. Spun rod bearings is more of a lubrication thing. With the S14, the engine oil moves away from the oil pump on hard right hand turns or long right sweepers which is why a good baffle is important.

Appreciate the input! I have yet to own a e30 M3, but if I play my cards right I may be owning the one down the street from me. I was actually just reading the other day about aftermarket oil baffle's for these cars, sounds like a necessity! Are the recommended on street cars or would it be over kill?
