Introducing the Tr-42. Exo-skeleton, CA legal, home build

Just thought I'd finally post up some pics. It was about a two year build working on weekends only between me and my dad. It will never be 'finished' but it's finally at a point where my dad and I are just enjoying the ride.

    Engine:
    Subaru EJ255
    Forged eagle rods
    Forged JE pistions
ACL race main and rod bearings
    Borgwarner 6758 turbo
5 spd trans from JDM EJ20 STI
    Stage 3 clutch w/ 12lb flywheel

    Suspension/wheels:
Based off of a Pontiac Solstice
    Custom coilovers
    Porsche 911 Steering Rack
    Apex EC7 wrapped with 315/30/18 & 275/35/18

    Interior:
    Tillet CF Seats
Sparco steering wheel & quick release
    Tach/Speedo from a Jetski
    VDO gauges
    Wilwood race pedals
Sparco steering wheel & quick release

I know there is a ton that I'm leaving out, but I just figured I'd cover the basics. Time for pics!

We both love it. Despite how crater like the roads are in town it drives surprisingly nice and not too stiff.

One thing I don't like is the air-water inter cooler setup. It's getting replaced by air-air soon. I also don't like the way our coolant system is setup. Our rad fan seems to be underpowered.

Lol, yes but with coolant running through the center tunnel, 180* is at your arm when you want it to be ;)

I'll try and get some videos up here pretty soon.

Weighs a hair over 1700lb with 330+whp. Haven't done any 0-60 times, but I imagine it's up there.

Sb100. Registered as a 1960's. Smog exempt. Had to go through a series of inspections from highway patrol, lights and brakes, smog, and referee/BAR. Almost wouldn't get through the system because it looked too much like a 'dune buggy'

It is 4wd or rwd? Did you make the whole tubular shell?

I want to drive it really badly =P

SB-100. Is that the one that they only give out a certain number each year?

I thought in order to qualify as a "1960s" or however they labeled it, it needed to resemble that kind of car, for ex. A lotus 7.

I ask because I'll be dealing with a similar problem soon and thought they would be bugging you about things like windshield wipers and bumpers etc even though they don't really make sense on a car like this
