    RDA 2.0 - 525i - Buttchuging the truth - Lurk City

    Sup

For starters I created the name DJ Buttchug. Forgery on Ryans part. Many of you know DJ Buttchug as an all around R3v douche nozzle, so am I. I am Ryans younger brother Reed. I made this profile to troll on his posts some 4 years ago, hence the title names.

Anyways ill give some background to the raw dog assassin 2.0. After dealing with garbage cars and limping home a 94 Nissan hardbody 4x4 pickup at 40mph from Yermo to San Diego with a haggard MAF and timing components I ended up spending my vacation doing a bean dipped head gasket and timing guides in my parents garage with Ryan. Needless to say once I got it back to Cedar bailed it and decided to look for other vehicle alternatives.

I sucked it up and rode a 21 speed cannondale for three months as my only transportation. Meanwhile Ryan was scouring socal for a decent daily. Bunch of garbage and projects that we weren't feeling, then we came upon a half baked e34 with some potential. Enter Raw Dog Assasian two point 0. RDA 1.0 was one of Ryans e30s we got rear ended in driving home a few years back.

August 2015, Ryan went and scoped it out as I am still in So. Utah. It had a blown clutch but the PO did some work to pass CA smog. We discussed, 600 bones got the title so we threw it on a flat bed and began the process.

Ryan worked on it when he could getting it ready for me to come down and drive it back to Utah before the snow hits and my sick cannondale is rendered useless by the snow suckage.

I have some 140+ pictures from the beginning (August) to now I will be compiling and updating asap.

Heres some pics of the car from the beginning when we picked it up. Cracked windshield, door cards are toast, wrecked front bumper, rust etc etc.

First things first was swapping in a new LUK clutch kit to get it moving and assess damage. Motor runs perfect with 272xxx miles. We assume its had work done, refresh etc. More to come...

Ryan busting out the clutch swap. There were some seized bolts on the bell housing and other hiccups.

After the clutch went in it was drivable. There was a random power drain somewhere in the car, Ryan ended up finding a rats nest of wiring and butt connectors in the trunk lid. The PO has rigged up the license plate lights to run all the time, killing the battery. He got that fixed temporarily, I still have no functioning plate lights however we had the idea to salvage a harness from the pick and pulls and splice that in. More on this later.

I also needed a windshield as the current had a massive crack in the passenger side. Took it down to the local glass place and threw one in for around 245 bucks, can't remember exactly. I know we got a deal because they initially ordered the wrong window which was cheaper than the correct, so once they reordered and got the right glass I was just charged for the cheaper glass. One of the guys in the shop also expressed some interest in those killer donk wheels.

Obviously have to ditch the 4.10 open diff. Ryan had a line on a 2.79 lsd from a guy in LA area who builds them up. Being a repeat customer he gave us a deal and had it ready the next day, Ryan ran up and grabbed it. Prime drive ratio for ultimate freeway destruction.

The only pic I have is swapping the output shaft to fit.

At this point its around mid September, its starting to get cold as balls in Cedar and the cannondale is crapping out. Plus wind makes the daily commute to work miserable hah. So we are trying to push through and get it ready to mob back up.
Things needed to get done at this point was wheels and tires, brakes some low and other misc stuff to prepare for a 500 mile hustle back up for work.

Found a deal on some new shoes. Style 61's in good shape for $125. Mounted and balanced to some BF goodrich tread for the snow totaling $485.

Got some slotted rotors and some decent pads off eBay. Gotta have this pig stop.

And after a huge hassle and 3 cancelled orders with returns still pending for BC coils, I went with some Megans. BC was a three week wait as no one in the country had them in stock even though their ads said differently.

Megan had them at my house within 2 days. More betta.

              So tasty.

I hitched a ride from Utah to SD with my parents and worked on the car for 3 days straight. First things first was to get the suspension and brakes dialed in, some stuff I didn't have the space or tools to do up in Utah.

                I don't have a ton of pics because I didn't have time.

I ripped the old strut/shocks out swapped in the rear coils and began work on the fronts. Cut off the strut tube and went to my buddys house to weld them on. The only welding experience I have is with a stick welder so I am definitely not good at it, but I made sure there was enough penetration and blasted them up.

Slid them up and bolted them in. Also took the time to bleed the bad fluid out and put on the brakes.

                Rear in.

I finished up the fronts and took it over to the dealership to power wash it off and get a little test drive in.

At that point I had only messed with the ride height enough to make sure that the front and rear L/R were even to each other. I ended up driving it back to Utah like this before I set it down any more.
