    new guys e30..

not sure if intro post are a thing here, but here is mine.. just got my first e30, a special 87 325is from the guys at bimmerheads.

It has one of their 2.7i motors, E36 based 5 lug swap, and a magnaflow exhaust. 225/55R16 winter tires, euro grills, and rear license plate filler, and then I just tucked the rear bumper last night... still lots more to come.
catapultmotors is my instagram page that gets all my car related stuff posted to it..

I think you left out a detail or two... Definitely interested in info and pics of the rear half of the bed and fab work.

left out more than a detail or two.... ask away if you have any questions, and I, mr 325, or shant will try to answer them... I bought it with everything already done, so I don't know everything done off the top of my head yet.. ive just cleaned up a little wiring, and done a bumper tuck so far... ive got more metal fab on the back window to do, which is a sectioned down piece from a 80s Nissan truck.. then ive designed a simple bed cage/strut brace, which will connect to a one off roll bar that I have to make when the rain stops and time permits. then I just want to make some other sheet metal panels for in the bed, and come up with some kinda nice looking bumpers for it... id love euro, but not in budget right now. I think that covers exterior plans for now. then performance wise, Im just thinking of Ireland engineering long tube headers, and cat back, and a miller maf should finnish that. then ill be getting some new bilstein hds for it soon. anything else?

tube bumpers like off an old toyota truck might be just the thing for your car. Especially in the rear

I like the look of the stock ones, and euro bumpers. just not in the budget for euro, nor do I think the truck is worthy of them quite yet. but I have a few ideas to make the stock ones work and look good, and more importantly, stay with the theme of the "truck". Im going for a finished, sport inspired look.. not a crazy prerunner hacktrap, or "drift truck"

Cool e30 truck. I remember seeing this as white. Still cool though.

yes, it used to be white. it will be staying green though. ill do a complete respray in metallic forest green once im happy with the metal, and body work. then tan/black interior.

ofcourse its wierd!!! whats really wierd, or crazy atleast... Is that this e30 truck is more mechanically sound than 90% of the cars on this forum...

How's it handle with all the weight missing? Or does it regain the extra weight with the bed cage? Also curious about what the tailgate looks like. I recall that someone made a fully-functioning tailgate a little while back.

haven't built the cage yet, but it handles and rides good. the bad cage will help a lot though as far as evening up the weight, and also reducing flex. no tailgate on this one. there is a guy that made a working tailgate that I saw on instagram, but I don't plan on having one. the bed isn't large enough to put anything into that I couldn't just lift over and set down into it. the bed can hold a lot of weight though. matt and shant(previous owners) used it to haul m20s..

Digging the e30 truck look mixed with the matte green. Thing looks mean already. Good luck with the build
