Pulled out some center console and interior pieces for spring cleaning. I have doubles and triples of everything. I'll probably start selling extras once I get both this and the 1600 squared away. Then I'll doing a massive purge sale and get my mind off parts. But until then, I'll hold onto everything.
This center console will make it's way into the tii. I just need to fab up a faceplate that deletes the radio/CD deck and incorporates three VDO gauges: Water Temp, Oil Pressure, & Oil temp. I'll add AFR but that will go in the glove compartment.
Almost a year ago was the accident in the 1600. On that faithful day, a good friend on this here forum, by the name of Mark, was one of the first to make it to my hospital room to make sure I was ok. He brought by this old BMW Motorsports Roundel as a gift and I never really understood the gesture. But I was going though some old things and I came across it again. I really like it. I will think of where I can incorporate it into the 1600 as a reminder that even though I possess unique cars, they don't mean anything if you're too dead to enjoy them. So thanks for that, Mark. I hope you're doing well in Tejas.
I have a few more boxes of underdash panels that I will go through, assess, and clean. I think I have a set or three of trunk boards that can use a good cleaning as well. Probably a few sets of interior door cards also. I really need to do an inventory.world renown Harry Potter expert

I was also on the hunt for some AlpinA goodies for these old cars. I only wanted a single steering wheel and a single thread-on shift knob, but I ended up buying a steering wheel and 4 shift knobs, all real AlpinA gear. I'm so glad I'm not married. My wife would divorce me for for spending 105 Chipotle burritos with double meat and guac's worth on them. And that's not even the worst part.
Sorry for the bad photo, I'll take better ones when they arrive.world renown Harry Potter expert

Snagged a completely rebuilt 3.91LSD unit for the tii. I am hard on the hot-rod tii theme, and this will compliment the power, 5-speed, and tires nicely. Also came with the Aardvark spacers and everything needed to install. I'll probably have to send out a spare tii gauge cluster to Hollywood Speedometer to have rebuilt for the 3.91LSD, since the ratio has now changed from the stock 3.64.

Today I finally blew up the Center Support Bearing. So I ordered up a new CSB and 4-bolt Guibo. I hope to have all that taken care of tomorrow so that I can drive it and get her nice and tuned up.
Many things also showed up. GC suspension, Esty Carpet Kit, new flashlight, some powdercoated things, ect.
I'm still waiting on fresh early e21 hubs to get here from IE, but I'm almost ready to install onto the tii.
I may start to rip out the carpet tomorrow, though I need to finalize the sound system or at the very least, the center console piece that will house all three gauges.world renown Harry Potter expert

It worked so well! Here is a fresh CSB, and a nice, cleaned up driveshaft (I washed and scrubbed and deep cleaned before I laid the paint).
Figured I'd replaced the Flex Disc/Guibo while I was in there, as well as all hardware. You can see the old Flex Disc separating.
I removed the driveshaft this morning, got everything replaced, dialed, and installed, and by the evening, I was driving again. All efforts were worth it. Car drives good with the new gear.
A special package arrive today from IE. Fresh early e21 hubs (tii spec) and a set of IE antisway bar hardware and bushings. Andrew took the time to press in new races, bearings, dust caps, install fresh studs, threw in new lug nuts, and even added freshly-plated hardware to secure the hub to the spindle! Thanks again Andrew - that was seriously nice of you.
Just to confirm that these are in fact tii spindles:
And all put together, including refinished backing plates, all new hardware, etc. Nothing on this set up is used or reused from the current set up on the car. The goal was to completely swap the entire system and put the stock set up in storage.
Soon.Last edited by phreshkid; 08-12-2016, 01:58 AM.world renown Harry Potter expert
