I'm not actually sure. It came with the pads, which came with the calipers.

The calipers are from a 1977ish e12 528i. They are necessary because I am running vented e21 rotors. Stock tii came with solid rotors.

So idk really. It just looks like I know what I'm doing most of the time.

Did a bunch of stuff to the tii but I probably won't post photos until tomorrow or Friday. Too lazy.

          Updates are good.

I think I'll sell the car though. The 1600 has my heart. The tii is scalded-cat fast, now. I'll explain more on that later.

Still own this one. Not "done" with her yet.

She'll get new paint, new wheels (Have acquired Borrani wheels and stock tii alloys), new interior, and various gaskets around the car.

I'll get back to working on this car in the next month.

              Til then, 1600.

                Did some stuff.

New Borrani wheels, new plate. I actually got the car back today after nearly two weeks in the shop. All systems are go now. It's fun, it's fast, it's ugly, it's mine.

Dont feel like reading the thread again, but has this been repainted once already or is this the original paint?

Been repainted once, in a two-stage combo. That's why I have destroyed clear coat. BMW only used single stage paint for non-metallic colors of the 70s.

                    Today was Differential Power Hour.

I figured it was a great time to swap out the 3.64LSD for a freshly rebuild 3.91LSD.

Here is a photo with the rebuilt 3.91 LSD unit and another spare 3.91LSD unit.

Then I pull the covers off - both are pretty.

Then I swapped covers, grabbed out a set of spacers and longer bolts, but later deemed unnecessary.

Before pulling the 3.64LSD out, I measured distances to verify if spacers were needed. Turns out I don't need them at all. This is interesting.

Someone modified the output shafts of the 3.64 LSD before installation, or this is a uber rare 2002 limited slip differential. I will verify tomorrow. I now two of each diffs, all LS.

Here is a shot of the 3.64LSD I just pulled out, next to the freshly rebuilt 3.91LSD. Notice how the output flanges are drilled for both 8mm and 10mm hardware. How cool is that.

Fresh diff installed. I didn't need to swap, but I thought a 3.91 would give the bottom end some more pep. Seems like the cam took from the bottom end of the curve and gave to the top end. And oh boy does she move.

Overall, a good swap. I also fixed the exhaust issues. No more clanking. All is well again.

                      More diff stuff.

Two 3.64 LSDs side by side. Left side was removed from the tii yesterday (perfect working order), Right side was purchased last year as a very low mileage early e21 diff out of Northern California. I don't recognize the front cover, but it will fit a 2002.

And three diffs: two 3.46LSDs and a spare 3.91LSD

                      It's good to have spares.

Haven't been doing much to the car except enjoying her before she goes in for some bodywork, repaint, and full interior restoration. I intend to shave the DOT sidemarkers, and push the bumpers in.

Along the lines of enjoyment, here is my body, with the ol' girl. We go great together.

                                Did some more stuff.

First, I will have a spare set of tii alloys refinished. These are especially neat because they were casted in November of 1972, which means they are not only the most-correct for the car, but that they don't have the "FPS" stamped in the face of the wheel, like you would typically see on new wheels of today.

I also threw on the Borrani center caps. They fit ok, but there was interference with the front e21 hub. These seem to work much better with standard tii hub and brakes - yet another reason to stay with stock brakes.
