    Noooob

    hey everyone,

my name is michael, i have a Schwartz 1989 325i. i have been using Rev and reading info on this site for months now but i finally decided to get a new name that i will stick to. i will post up pics of my car later, but right now i just want to show you my wheels that i am really proud of. my brother (erik325i) picked up these wheels at pickNpull for around $80 or something and i decided to repaint them and put them on my car. so i polished the lips on all of them first so they could look newer and better, then i taped off the lips and painted the middles.. tell me what you think, all comments welcome.

welcome aboard (in a informal way since ur not new):D

Well yeah kind of agree with Rwdrift.. gold with the polished lips could have set your car off. Oh well, we'll see better when you update.

it's going to chip after a few months and get pitted.. it's gonna look good in the short term, but after a while, you won't be able to get them looking clean enough.. It looks good now though :)
I painted my rims too. Check out my calypsorot conv. in my gallery. It looked really good right after i painted it, but after a year, chipping/fading. good luck though

yea, that would make sence about the chipping, but im just gonna run these on my car because they are better than the stock bottlecaps. haha i am really happy with the turnout and the look of them too.

i have mine painted for about 4 months now and there not chipping up no real bad. but if they do... i recommend getting a testors paint marker for touch up. works quite well.

                  I have the same rims

Yeah, they look really good. My concern is DURABILITY. that's all. let's see how they look in a year, or 10,000 miles at least... i dunno. They look great now. and i gotta hand it to you, but let's see those wheels after 1 year. I don't think that spray paint can do any wonders to wheels when it comes to durability... I'm all for DIY projects, and I have done many, but wheel painting is def. a short term fix up. Looks good though moatilliatta.

how did you polish the lips?
I just picked up a set of iX 15x7 weaves and want to paint them black with the polished lips.

Did you strip the wheel down, sand it, or media blast it?
ive bought some wheel paint, stripper, and clear coat,

ive been tryin to find a DIY on this.

                            thanks man

                            looks wicked.
