    That gives me some hope about painting the bottom of my car without a spinny whirl gig thing. I cant spell it. Anyhow, if you did, what did you do to remove the original body goop on the bottom? It's all pretty dry, and might come off eventually with a chisel but do you have any tips on how to get it done faster? I dont really want to use anything too harsh that would burn right to the bare metal all over though.

              that was a nasty job. i used about 2 gallons of castrol super clean and wire brushes, pnuematic drill with wire wheels, hand scrapers etc etc.
              my car was basically just dirty underneath. i cleaned and cleaned until it was spotless. i think i spent 2 or 3 full days under it last summer.
              heres a pic of when i was test fitting the tranny. you can see its pretty clean. before i painted i just washed it down with alcohol and went at it
