    mt. baker cruise pics

drove up the mt. baker highway for the fun of it yesterday. it was gorgeous and the air was very refreshing! I brought along my camera and tripod, but sterling silver is very difficult to take good shots in direct sunlight. I don't really like any of these but I thought I'd share anyway:

I have almost 300 miles on my motor/tranny now, and it's running very well. I have a goal set of a 5.5 sec 0-60 and a low-mid 14 sec quarter mile, with gearing changes and tuning (a completely stock M20B25 intake kinda chokes the motor up top) I think I can get there easily.

      DIBILIAs IN TEH Buttz??

What paint did you use for your centers? Genuine nogaro?

I wish! I'll probably end up doing an extrude honed intake for now, which costs about 1/3rd as much as the diblias, but who knows?

          wheels are indeed genuine nogaro

So nice. I used to live in Seattle. I really miss that part of the country.

It must feel good to finally be able to row your own.

Your acceleration goals should be easily attainable with said future mods and some aggressive launching.

                  mt. baker

Mt. Baker is the best drive I've been on since moving to Seattle this year.

Car is looking tough! Needs mor Rieger lip though.

I'm glad you are happy with the swap and engine. Do you really think 5.5 0-60 is attainable with an iX? I don't even think Jordan's car was that fast, and he had quiet the built M20, a lighter car, and less drivetrain loss (not to mention lots of traction).

we'll see, right now it certainly isn't close. I'm still improving my shifting, and it will never happen with the 4.10 (I lose more time shifting than I gain in acceleration), and definitely not with the current intake and non tuned engine (I'm using the same bavauto chip I used with my stock motor).

his engine was quite a bit different from mine - he used heavier rods, the 85mm JE pistons detonate much sooner than MM so he couldn't run very aggressive timing, and he also polished his intake ports (he says he didn't but they were smooth and shiny). I also have a little more displacement (81x86), a more agressive cam, and I plan on using the same headers and a non-stock intake setup. jordan's car wasn't all that light (heavy stereo, vaders, etc), and I have dieting plans for my car - I could easily get within 100lbs of him. he also had a HUGE head, and was fatter than me too. ;)

I think I can get there.. it will take more work, but even if I don't it will still be a blast :D

Can you run different diff ratios front and rear with an iX?
