Quick update. Went in on a Sunday and go the guibo fixed so that I could at least drive the car. It had gotten pretty bad apparently.

Had to do some work last weekend on the drivers side inner fender lip. The inner lip on that side had an extra layer of metal as if it had been repaired, so I took some time to grind it down and smooth it better than whoever did it.

Took a break to make a Sonic run and take pics of course

The current plan is to get it over to a buddy to start its 5spd swap process in the coming weeks, should be all buttoned before the end of April. While its gone, I plan on getting the my hella euro smileys cleaned up and put together so that they are ready for install. I usually never make good on plans for this car so we'll see

Haven't updated this in awhile, guess there hasn't been much to add unfortunately, just been enjoying the car!

Had a nice Christmas morning cruise with some friends

Drove it to work since it was nice day instead of the daily, though it was a bit cold (like 25°). Got the coolant flushed and replaced with genuine BMW coolant and checked out the underside of the car up on the lift. Unfortunately, some things were found. One of the return lines to the bottom of the radiator is leaking, power steering pressure line needs to be replaced, the trans mounts are starting to crack and the guibo is in bad shape.

There's truly a never ending list of things to fix

    Thank you!

Got the timing belt recently. Even though it was done only 6k ago, it's been close to 5 years so it had to done, but now I have peace of mind when I drive it.

    A little update!

Started the swap process and picked up a small flange g260 and should be getting the front driveshaft section from a coworker soon. The goal is to have it all done by at least the end of year (I move slowly). I really miss driving a manual e30 :-|

    Thanks guys!

The wheels definitely are unique, haven't seen a lot of e30's with them.

    I love white too, I've had 3 alpine e30's!

Its been a long time since I have updated this thread. New job working for BMW has kept me pretty busy!

The coolant leak ended up just being the usual throttle body heater valve. It was looking pretty nasty so I cut a small bit off the end of each hose and then joined them together with a plastic tube. I have new hoses and heater valve with a new cork gasket, just haven't bothered to fix it yet as I want to do a coolant flush and water pump at the same time.

Added a new m54 oil cap and put on chrome tips. The PO installed a brand new factory exhaust and it was flat black, so the new tips looks much better.

LED license plates are a must

I ended up buying a second set of complete Hella smileys in pretty good shape and then got a new frame with pretty much mint low beam housing from a local. The set I already had was incomplete, had one shattered low beam and had rusted adjustes, so plan is to take them both apart and make a set using all the best parts from the two.
    I got hella Hella

Had to celebrate the 4th of July of course!

This was the car as it was for awhile. I added a plate filler in the front with white or black lettering.

Then I finally decided to pull the trigger on the wheels I've wanted for way too long. Might take front down just a 1/4 inch.

It joined a couple fellow e30's at the dealership. Getting the timing belt done before it grenades the valves.

Future plans will be addressing the cooling system items and starting my collection of 5spd swap parts. Previous two e30's were manual and its just not the same without one.
