with all thats been going on around here, i finally got it running this weekend!

IA: to explain, i also had problems with megasquirt, i couldnt get a tach signal. it was coming in from the EDIS and i had a scope on the tach input on the chip and could read a signal there but i didnt look closely to realize the signal wasnt going low enough for the cpu to actually see the signal. so me and my friend traced the problem to a faulty 4n25 (opticoupler) and we just bypassed the circuit by installing pull down resistor network. the EDIS provides such a clean signal that all we really needed was to bring it from 12 down to 5 volts. the opticoupler circuit is really only needed for protecting the cpu from the ignition coil because it is prone to feeding back voltage spikes - i'm using a coil pack.

Ive never seen a clean engine bay on a race car. Its usually not worth the effort. It will look good until you take it out a few times though I guess.

                              dude congrats!!!!!

i really should have done the same thing you did in hindsight...i jumped straight into a built motor without first learning engine management...props for good decisions and a successful swap!!!
