Glad I got to the timing belt quick - it had stretched a bit, the timing marks were a bit off. It runs more smoothly now that they are precisely lined up. It was likely overdue. Well, time to go out for Halloween with my wife in the bimmer!

Good looking car and I agree, we need bigger pics

Yeah, I actually didn't notice at first, but the guy who did the PPI pointed that out to me. Eventually I will tear both bumpers off and see what needs done. There are bits of rust in some areas, but nothing all the way through that I've found so far.

If work goes well in the next few months hopefully I'll move to a house with a better shop situation and maybe do a complete tear-down and rustproofing, plus fresh paint. We'll see.

        Also need shadowline yesterday.

Just kidding. Welcome to R3v :p
Thanks. Your sig looks pretty much how I want my 325i to look eventually, although I might go with shadowline kidneys as well.

Yes - I was thinking in American mph... so 160km/h? I'd have sat on 90km/h (or 55mph) :D

Pity about the wheel wells, but I'm sure you'll get it fixed OP.

I did find some rust behind the left rear suspension mount point that barely made it through to the support for the trunk - not sure what that's called. It being a few inches away from the suspension mounting point is scary, but at least the suspension mount is clean.

Now however, after filling the tank completely, I smell gas around the rear end. The list of little problems is getting longer every day, but I'm looking forward to fixing most if not all of them eventually.

Today I replaced the fuel lines in the engine compartment that go the the fuel rail and fpr. Hopefully no more gas smell or leaks. Also replaced the o ring on the fpr. Was going to do more but the guys replacing my rain gutters finally showed up an hour late.

That whine is definitely your fuel pump. Mine made the same noise before slowly dying. I installed a TRE 255 the car's idle and parking lot speed driving improved (less bucking). It's also very quiet.

I was thinking of getting a 255 pump if this one quits. I read they are louder than OEM?Other than the whiny sound the only other odd thing I've noticed is when reversing the idle drops and then shoots back up, all bouncy like.

I don't do Facebook, but you can give his wife's Facebook to my wife and they can fight it out.
