The hideaway plates are cool on the right car... Really wish the local PD would do something better with their time than give me a no front plate ticket though

People speed right by the school I live next to, run the stop signs, some idiot in a Turbo Mustang always drives like an idiot, etc But my lack of front plate is what they spent their Saturday doing...

Finally got a chance to tackle something that this car desperately needed. Euro grills weren’t cracked but looked quite gray, so it was time to bust out the SEM trim black.

Cleaned them off, taped off the foam piece and got to work. Love the improvement and I will get a lot more of the trim done as time allows.

                    Pics will tell the rest...

                    Before

                    Cleaned and masked off

                    Weapon of choice

                    3 coats

                    Done

                    More to come... someday lol

                      Sunday Funday!!

Met up with Charlie (sh3park!ng) and a few other friends at Supercar Sunday. Lots of amazing cars there.

                      Afterwards we hit the canyons

                        So here we are again....

This ended in disaster with the Aluminum Monster, so I’m wondering if I should yank the current fubar trunk lock and disassemble it to get to correct sequence. Only problem is I can’t really get my trunk open right now... not sure if I should drill it out or ...?...

So I can’t get my trunk to open at all. Feels like a noodle pushing into a loose vagine. I just ram it in there over and over.... and nothing.

I Can’t get the trunk open.

I really don’t want to deal with drilling this out but I can’t think of anything option or if that will even get it open but that’s how we got the Aluminum Monsters trunk unlocked when my drunk friend locked my keys in there years ago

                            Ideas?

Turns out I just needed to threaten it with the drill. I literally was about to push the trigger on the drill and as I pushed it into place the trunk popped open lol

Took the old lock out and started disassembling it and pulling each pin out, cleaning them out and writing the number down. Saw what the problem is with the old lock

That might’ve gotten worse with my screwdriver action...

Now I was ready for the final assembly

Put the effort in and it all locked good and ready for the final test.

Everything worked fine in this position but installing it on the car and it’s as if the spring isn’t doing its job or there’s a lubricant missing because it will open the trunk when you push the button in but it’s not springing back to its original position ... a headache for another day

Edit: looking at the final pic now, I think I know what’s wrong, but let me see if anyone else catches it and agrees
