Hey Josh, good luck. I hope it turns out well for you. The valance is a big problem in the swap (just doing the bumper looks weak) so I am glad you got one to go on.
Take lots of pics.. sticky maybe?
Change is coming...

They will be fine. My car will no longer be driven in the winter, so stuff on the roads is of no concern to me. My car will spend its winters sheltered from the elements in my new garage from now on.
Parker, we get started as soon as my new bumpers get here, which should be very soon.Last edited by Jand3rson; 09-14-2006, 12:36 PM.Leave a comment:

Early tails and arches are the shit.
Rivets, however... ugh. I've never been to OR so I don't know how bad the winter weather is or if they salt the roads, but that sounds like a great way to get some really kickass hidden rust, IMO.Leave a comment:

Yep, like I said, we'll figure it out. Andrew and I live for doing this kind of custom work, so it should be fun.Josh, im sure stainless steel rivets will do what you want, As you stated.
I use to work at a sign company, Making signs for Mercedes,Audi,Wachovia,GM,etc.
You would be surprised what those rivets are holding together, Plus it keeps from blistering your paint and such.

BTW, the pic in your sig is gorgeous. But it IS too wide, it needs to be cut back to 650.Leave a comment:

Those are shots of my current project.Mine is about a big of a hack job as you can get - I just stopped caring about it. It's slightly harder than that. You can't just cut the current valence off your current car, because there's shit below it. Say, the corner pockets, and wheel wells.
That guy's looks decent..from those angles - I'd like to see what inside his wheelwell and up/underneath the apron looks like.
Up underneath my apron of course look like the back side of the apron overlapping the old one. The wheel well is the only tell tale of the double apron. I plan to fiberglass that in with a backing plate so it will not be noticeable.
If you learn to use figerglass resin it is 10x better than bondo for applications like this.Leave a comment:

Trust me.. no need to seal the seam.. I need to post picture of my rivetted valance with the bumper on it. Looks factory. Bumper covers up everything.Leave a comment:

Sorry I missed you up here the other day Josh.
I still just see the issues with the seems in the wells. But where there is an issue, there is a way to resolve it so it will all be good. You are gonna frickin love it when its done. Besides, Criv is doin the M-Tech1, why duplicate? Its gonna be badass when its all said and done. Just dont go taking on so many projects that it will spend another picnic in Bend! :)Leave a comment:
