Great work on this one. Clean lines - very tastefully done.

        Favorite E30 on the planet...

M20 Stroker w/ ITBs would be cool to see in the long run perhaps
And still retains its period correctness? (if that's a word)

I'll be following this thread closely
Still need to see it in person someday, I've missed it a few times just barely

your rear seat bottom probably mounts like mine does, with exposed bolt tabs instead of the click-in style they moved to in 84. might have a bit of trouble getting an M3 seat to mount, but nothing a welder can't fix.
Yeah I have the bolt in bottom cushion, not afraid of a little welding ;)

There are way cooler e30’s on the planet, but I appreciate the love.

Went to my first Autocross with the car yesterday, at El Toro marine base in Irvine. I haven’t autocrossed in years, but I go karting all the time, and I actually didn’t do too bad. Only hit 2 comes all day, and got a little sideways once, but no major fuck-ups. The only other e30 there to compare to was stripped with a full cage and an m50, and we were running roughly the same times. I was faster than a lot of Miatas, some s2000’s, and a widebody Elise (somehow). The car had a bit of understeer that I’d like to get rid of, but other than that it worked perfect the entire day. I’ve already signed up for the next one at Bimmerfest in a few weeks, hopefully there will be more e30’s there to compare to.

Byron your 84 e30 , now that the Leno law has been bent over, corn holed and tossed outside to play will someday fit in the legal in California to be smog exempt. That's got to light a fire and get this car on the road. It will be bad ass.
