They are using a brake booster from an 02, there is not much space
there because of the watercooled intake.

Here are a few pics from the shop:

And finally a video from when they started it up :)

I´m going to the Ring the 25th and it seems that the white monster will be ready

Ok, finally some pics from the shop in Germany :)

More rust than we expected :D

    Has all been fixed now.

The engine and gearbox are in.

They have also adapted the steering and there is small welding
job left to hook the headers up to the new exhaust.

Next week they will do the brake booster and brake lines as
    well as the cooling system.

Can´t wait until the car is ready for some fun on the Ring 8)

Both Lada and polish 125p are made from base of Italian Fiat 124 blueprints, so they are much a like. Fiat 124 won the "car of the year" award back in 1964 IIRC. Ladas looking similiar with that 125p on picture were produced until 90's. :)

Here are some pics of work in progress.

They ripped the hamster out and then went to get the "new" motor
from the guy I bought it from. He had some seriously expensive
wrecks in his garage - Carrera GT and 360 Challenge Stradale

They are now working on fixing the rust and will hopefully drop the motor in next week

You are right - but I had not seen a Lada in a long time back home and
this car looked just like they used to look :)

Very similar looking cars - Fiats have usually looked way better than Ladas :-D

Hehe I have had to wait a long time to be able to fund my projects.
I´m fortunate enough to have a company that is doing well so I have
started doing the things I have dreamed about for years.

I see you live in Bellingham - I was an exchange student in Blaine
way back in 1986/87 :) WA is a nice place ;-)

    Here is a small update.

The car is now in Germany. I went and picked it up in Hamburg at
the beginning of the month and took it to the tuning shop. It´s
    a 600 km drive.

    It was quite wet!

    Here is one i///Mposter:

    Some heavy machinery!!!!:

    My favorite sign:

The E30 M3 has one hell of a navigation system:

    Cruised at 120-140kph:

Stopped regularly to take a break from driving:

You don´t see many of those - it´s a LADA (russian made):

I like the look in the rearview mirror - that wing is nice :)

Here I am at the tuning shop - Auto Tauber:

Here is one project they are working on - putting an Audi TT motor into
    a Golf:

They also had this Lotus Espirit twin turbo that is one of the biggest
money pits around. They have to pull out the motor every 10.000 km
    to change the timing belt:

The blue Batmobile is a total restoration project that they are working on:

We also took a look at the crown jewel of the shop - they own this
    pristine M1:

I flew back the next day and they started working on the M3 :)
