The new FI engines like in the M3/M4 sound like shit.
there is a lot of truth here. of course the engine you have in your other car isn't so bad either.

how do you plan to shift that transmission? are you planning to install a late style paddle shifter steering wheel? how are you going to control it? i can't imagine the complications involved in this project.
The plan is to have paddle shifters but not necessarily a late style wheel.

Complexity is not too bad - have good people with me that have the software figured out.

A good friend of mine has lots of "leftovers" from his tuning work on S85 for various tuners so I have access to most of the parts. I will however have to buy a few, like the used head I already purchased. Buying all the parts at the dealer is of course not an option.

V10 with the DCT is a super nice modern drivetrain combo. 7 gears to keep the V10 in the power band all the time.
For me this is the ultimate BMW drivetrain into the best looking BMW body.

I know the purists view of going manual only but I have another BMW for that ;D

Project still alive and progressing slowly ;)

Pics of the DCT box - on it´s way from Denmark:

Will be interesting making it fit... the E30 tunnel is not quite big enough ;)

Also, finally the S50 engine is sold & paid for.

Gave up on the original buyer and sold it locally - here is the happy new owner picking it up:

    Will go into a mint 1990 E30 316.

So now the S85 is on the engine stand with the parts list.....
