fun to see this project come along. Thanks for sharing progress.
wow - that was a great price - albeit, your labor time vs. $hop hours..
.. which pays two-fold back in satisfaction- especially with such a dramatic before/after.
wow #2 - the condition of that flex disc !
do not paint the side moldings. yes- it does look good, clean, and simple without them- but it just looks wrong and cheap when they're painted.Comment

this cabrio is just about identical to the one i have. when i purchased it it look the same from the inside and out and about the same milage i think 1208xx. joey we should keep in touch so we can exchange info on repairs. thanksComment

It's been a while since I gave you guys an update, so I figured it's about time. I've been really busy with school, which really cut back on the time I had available to work on the car.
I managed to pull a bunch of stuff off the engine, which means the engine bay is now in a major state of disarray. That's fine though, I ordered a Bentley from Amazon for $32 and I have my other '89 325i that I can use for reference. Basically I removed all the cooling hoses on the front of the engine, the radiator, wires, throttle body, intake stuff, etc. I might take some pics today, but there's nothing really spectacular about it. After f***ing around with the fan clutch hub for a couple hours Mr. Copperwheat told me Mr. Funk had a tool that makes it super simple. I borrowed said tool and had that thing off in 2 minutes.
Last week I placed an order with Patrick at BMA for my laundry list of maintenance items, which totaled $477.xx. It's my bet that after I'm done with all this stuff the cabby should be one of the most reliable E30's around.
Oh yeah, I also picked this up for it yesterday ---> http://tinyurl.com/2cqwf5

Those wheels are the DP Motorsports "DP-5" ...and yes they were the shit back in the day .
I sold a bunch of them and they mostly were available in white and silver of course the bling chrome of the day .
Eventually they were offered in black as well but the white was always the most popular .Comment

very nice find i must say with the mileage and all. and the interior cleaned up well. very well infact.
those rims do the car no justice. and looks like they have been curbrashed like a mofo. i am also one of those guys that dislike cabrios, but to each his own.
treat it well and it will make you happy.Comment

Refinish those rims in a gloss black! They are pimp as hell, keep them as the primary rims on that car.
Very nice work so far, the car is really cleaning up well. If you tucked the bumpers, resprayed the rocker panels with undercoating, and then refinished the wheels, it'd really transform the exterior.
For the leather, try Pinnacle's leather cleaner and conditioner. I have been EXTEMELY happy with the results from my use with it... I wish I had before and after pictures. Dove grey leather gets nasty!Comment
