    appraise my car!

I just got done putting a timing belt, water pump, drive belts, spark plugs t-stat, and emblems and other crap on this thing. I still have to get new tires, change the oil, and other crap i cant think of.

I bought the car and it was in poor shape. Im doing what ever i can to get it back to roadworthy but ive already used up this month's money allowance for the car so its gonna be a little while before it gets any other stuff.

Only mechanical thing im having a problem with is the car is having a bit of trouble starting on the first crank. Im gonna start diagnosing it when i get some time to read the bentley unless anyone has some idea what it may be.

I also dont know how to reattach the front valence. It was not on the car when i bought it and im unsure how to put it back on. i'm a noob. also the car had side skirt that i bought with the car not on the car at the time. Should i put them back on??

Heres the pics of what i did today for the paint!!! The pics are not nearly as dramatic as it is in person. The car looks so much better. I know i oversprayed on the tires but they are getting replaced next when i have money again.

Im not really selling it ive already fallen in love. I wanna know what a 87 5spd 325is cars are worth when they are all fixed up. Just because i got the car for pocket change doesnt mean it should be worth that when ive been puttin all my time/money into it and it looks like a different car right? Its got a 135k miles. The passenger seat has a cover on it, the back seat is pretty bad and the drivers seat has been replaced by a black 318is seat.

Future plans are ES1oos soon i hope. Corbeau seats. Bilsteins, havent decided on springs. Possibly some headers or something for a little more zip. Im just gonna be flat broke for a while and the car is gonna have to wait until i can afford mods.

well if you want your car to increase in value...? make it all a clean OEM car.

                Racing seats.......drops value
                lowered suspension......usually drops value
                Loud exhaust........Drops value

anything that can be traced back to racing....no one wants, more so in a 20 year old BMW. It makes buyers think that you've raced it around and punished the vehicle.

Which makes since....if you didnt race it why would you need RACING seats...

Not sure what the market is like where you live but around here I'm pretty positive that car would sell for $3k+ in that condition.

                        Are you kidding me?

That is one of the dumbest things I've heard. If you want a car like that, go looking for Olds. . .

thanks for the input. You right race suits and other performance goodies dont necessarily increase the value of the car. Especially not dollar per dollar. I have been spending alot of time on the car away from work and the Idea of turning into a business deal has crossed my mind more than once. It will be worth 4 or 5 thousand to me and if someone else agreed i would consider taking the money. A penny less and i would be happy to keep it. Thanks for all the input.

What did you do to the paint? Looks a ton better. That is a shit load of shine on that dash though. I prefer a dull clean lustre.

Let's drive fast and have fun.

some clay bar first to remove the dirt in the paint. Pulled alot of $hit out of the paint. Then new finish polish and a helluvalot of beer and elbow grease. Took 5 hrs polishing and about 2hrs waxing it yesterday with zymol the other day and im not quite satisfied. It will get there. I wanna try some more expensive polishes next month when i get into phase two.

The dash is actually a cover and i pulled it out of a junker car. It was all dusty and horrible looking and i had to armor all it to bring it back. I do a little armor all sometimes on my vehicles but im not a fan of the dash glare usually either.
