exactly. he's trying to put his car back together. getting free-bee's from alot of locals. a free fender from one guy. $10 hood from another guy, etc. not to mention, destroying a wheel would put a dent in my wallet, and FMIC's arent cheap. lol. its something i may give a try some day. but i have no intention on really getting into it. i would however, LOVE to get the car on a roadcoarse.

back to autorama. im PUMPED. i havnt told any of my buddies that my car is going to be there. they've not seen the car in person since it was without drive train or anything done to it.

what did i say that was "pure ignorant bullshit"? could it be that i *THINK* drifting is lame? that my friend, is an opinion.

Suck a dick. Do all the cars at HPDE's look great? No. Some do; the people with deep pockets. Not all the drift cars look bad, there are guys with deep pockets in drifting as well. You are a ricer if you think that these cars have to be show cars in order to drift. Just like a lot of people on this forum, looks follow function and a lot of these guys have suspensions/turbos etc. that cost more than the value of most E30's, even if their fenders all falling off and their paint is peeling.

Even the Pro cars I have seen are beat to shit, because they are pushing the limit and the crowd goes crazy when they tag the wall. I watched a Toyota Chaser and R34 Skyline get totaled at the Formula D event last summer. Both non replaceable cars over here. They are some of the best drivers I have seen ever, and they even push just alittle bit too far past the limit of drifting. There is alot more risk when you are sliding.

I personally have never done any drifting other than setting up some cones late at night at a mountain parking lot (Mt. Baker) during the summer and doing some figure 8s and stuff like that. It was a fun way to waste some all seasons on Bcaps.

"You are a ricer if you think that these cars have to be show cars in order to drift."

Shit, i dont care what the fuck they look like, i just don't like drifting....soo call me a ricer for saying a car has to "look good to race" drifting IS NOT racing... HPDE cars look a lot better than those drift cars... body kids flailing in the wind, missing hoods, missing bumpers, etc. Sure the "pro" guys have huge sponsorships but i could care less. How do these cars get so beat up? There's no reason for a car that doesn't even have to worry about hitting OTHER cars or going off a track to get so F*cked up.

I'm done talkin, I don't need to keep posting in this garbage.

You are ignorant - have you ever even been to a drift event? They are held at tracks! Of course they can go off and/or hit a wall! And most of these cars have at least once in their lives - most more than once. Thats how you learn. All the cars without front bumpers happen to have them, but they take them off for better access to their intercoolers. And gasp - the guy without a hood had his in the pits as well! Imagine that!

Ed, there is a teaser video if Erick sliding in another thread somewhere around here.

and here's one of me. i also made top 16 but not because of runs like these i just haven't found more vids but that's 'cause ppl like Eric better and i'm completely stock

and to that guy that doesnt like drifting, is fine if you dont consider drifting racing...becuase technically is not a race...its more about driver skill, speed, line, adrenaline and cojones...i'm sure this will help when it comes to a track or auto-x event which i plan on doing very soon
                            No more e30s for me.
