Thanks for the kind words guys. The original front subframe had a crack on one of the tabs, so was pretty much unusable. This one was pulled from a 91 318i Parts Car, then cleaned up and painted. The Output flanges on the differential are currently for E30 axles, and not the ones from an M Roadster, so we're waiting for those parts. All new bushings, Reinforced Solid Aluminum Shock Tower Mounts, Groupe N Subframe bushings, Treehouse Eyeball Control Arm Bushings, ST Sway Bars, GC Camber Plates, Front Subframe Reinforcement Kit, Rear Swaybar Reinforcement, and some more items. Also a Z3 Steering Rack .

The engine bay is getting painted in the coming weeks in Diamond Schwarz, as soon as the 5-Lug Conversion is together and the car is actually able to move.

I'll post some pics of the other E30's in the family, as well as the 85 535i and the 87 190E 16-2.3

                  UPDATE:

Progress has been somewhat slow on the 5-Lug Swap. Not having the correct axle flanges, nuts, bolts and other stuff can be an issue. My dad and I call the local dealership probably about 3-4 combined times a week for odds and ends. Oh well.

Finishing up the rear and all of the various parts (brakes, shocks, etc.) this week, and doing the front subframe next week.

And a few of my 5er in it's current state. I just couldn't resist

Fun project, I'm curious why you chose to mount the threaded perch on the top as opposed to the bottom on the rear suspension?

It's not actually mounted, I just wanted to show some pics of the current progress. Right now, the issue is with the shock mounts. The slots that go onto the shocks and hold the bushings on the outside were to small, so I had someone machine some new ones. It's nice working in a place that specializes swaging/butting.

E30Andy - Previous/Original Owner had the work done to the car there. I actually like the matching stickers on either rear window so I've been hesitant to remove them.
Oh, and your car is hot.

                                Update

Another small update - got some more stuff mounted, including the PITA Rear Swaybar. That thing is a bitch to mount. Next up, differential and axles.

And some pics of the wheels the car will be running - Borbet Type E, 17x8, et40. Originally, it was going to be 245/40/17 in the rear, but I don't think the tires will fit, so just going with 225/45/17 all around.

I don't care what anyone else thinks about these wheels. I think they're fucking hot.
