Good for you. I realize your into this and don't need the charity. I'd just like to see this "community" pimp someon's ride. You seem to be a good canidate. Don't mean to say your a charity case. Just know that you've got the ambition to work hard and build a great car you'd enjoy. I just think it be cool for us all to pitch in and watch you do the work.

Haha I'm in the same boat as you, Mike. My car wasn't great and it still isn't, but it's slowly getting better. I had diving boards and the early valance etc, but I've already swapped the front to plastics. Yeah, if I had to do it all over again I would've started with a late model e30, but I'm going to work with what I have.

I agree that you shouldn't listen to all of the negative comments. It is pretty funny to hear them make fun of you, and there is some truth to what they're saying. At least in the end you'll have the last laugh...if you stick with it.

Okay, we get it. All of us early model owners are dumbasses and our early models are worthless.

Mike, if you are truly making $2,500 a month I don't see why you bought yet another beater. Your new "325iS" seriously hardly looks better than your car red car, except that it has a front bumper. $3,500-5,000 can get you a super clean car that doesn't need a bunch of money to get it up to snuff before you can even start modding it. Just add some choice mods like rims and a drop and you are set. Both of your cars look like fucking shit, even if they run good. I've yet to see you do anything to improve or maintain the cosmetics or improve the beater status of your E30s.

                    RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Mike, is that white one in the background your next daily driver? :) J/k man, I think your car is just fine. I had a 86 325 that i badged a 325is after a i motor, bilstein/eibachs, plastics, IS spoilers, m3 interior yada, yada. Ya cant call it an IS until ya got at least all the IS options, sport suspension, spoilers, sport seats, LSD. Keep up the good work, I give you props for getting all this shit from all these guys (some if it deserved :) ) and coming back for more.

Srsly, fucking retard. That's not what I said. Not all "early model owners are dumbasses".

lol, i was just making an overgeneralization of your statements. your insults aren't necessary. but honestly, i doubt that, all by yourself, working minimum wage, you went out and bought a $4000 e30, without worrying about rent, food, bills...

i'm with Digitalwave though. Mike, are you going to at least try and wash this car, maybe clay bar it and wax it first before posting pictures for once? Or are so unconsciously desparate to get our approval that all you really want to do is turn it into yet another fuh raze go kart?

That defeats the purpose of it being a budget project like so many E30 owners want. $3500 is a total budget including the cost of the E30 for me!! With all of the other cool Bimmers out there, I can't possibly see spending $5000 for just the car, and then more to make it cool! For that kind of cash, I think it's better to get something that is cooler and has a little more character (my opinion only, I'm sure there are people out there who thing E30s are the coolest, and that's cool). If I were going to spend $5000 I'd get a super nice E28, E24, E9 or a 2002 in good shape... Cheap E30s make great project cars too, that's all I'm trying to say.

Which says to me, Yes you should get the best car you are capable of getting and then go from there.
