    Okay so I'm back.

It is your car, but be open to criticism, which you expected. Have tough skin and stick to your guns (which you are doing so props).

Going the stock route is preffered from members of the board it seems, but don't let that make you go that route. Don't let people you've never met from the internets (serious business ®) get to ya.

And thats all I have to say about that. Good luck with your project.
    Reminiscing...

Paint looks good, front bumper is good, but the rear is meh.

You will be more pleased with the outcome overall, and so will everyone who sees it.

Are you on crack? The paint looks lousy, very dull.

As others have said.. the front bumper is generally undesirable, but the rear is just the most flamming gay thing you could have put on the car.

I see on ebay that these body kits cost like $500 or more. I hope you didn't pay that much because that would be rediculous and I would pity you.

edit: also, it look like that rear apron is going to contribute a significant amount of air drag. The sides fan out crazy wild style.

I guess it's time to play Canadian embassador.

I'd wait til the car is finished

It's hard to judge a car or anything in the middle of its progress. Perhaps larger tires will off set the rear bumper effects? Keep at it and do post once the exterior is almost done. It's definitely different then all the clones I see around town. Thanks.

                        ah shit

Shit guys, sorry bout the car, especially to my fellow Canadians. Damn I worked hard, turned a peice of crap into something I like and you guys arent happy with it. Christ, I should have asked all of you how to go about doing this, maybe just maybe my car could have looked exactly like yours. Isn't that what you all want, lets narrow our mods to hhhmmmm lets see 3 body kits and then shit, we can paint them different colors and think we have done something incredible. I will Definitely be watching when i buy my rims , i think i can choose between about 4 manufacturers, thats if I want to be accepted.

Keep going guys, its cool, i have been hanging around here long enough to realize that your great guys but if something is different you have fun doing the same thing you did with most of your cars, follow the leader. so go ahead, Bash the guy who looked at his car in a different light. And hey when you wake up in the morning , walk outside and look at your E30, be damn proud that only 50 other members on R3Vlimited have the same one.
Cheers, and thanks to the members who can at least give a kind word about the work thats been done even if its not to their liking, and wishing me luck on the rest of the project.

New2bmw: It's great to have a different vision, I just think that there are other ways to go about it than hanging that hideous thing off the back bumper... The front of the car isn't really too bad, and it looks like a lot of work went in to the body, and that is cool. If you went with some other rear bumper it probably would look 50x better. When the wheels are on it maybe something will click, but for now it's not working for me.

Also, your labeling of all of the tastefully modded E30s on this site and others as "clones" is pretty simplistic. Yes, there are only a few bumper / spoiler / side skirt / lip combos that most people use, and that's because they are the best looking ones out there. These guys aren't trying to build E30s that look like Hondas, they are building ones that have all the coolest stuff that was available for these cars back in the day, like Mtech I and II kits, Alpina stuff, ACS stuff, etc. Yeah, there are about 4 or 5 wheel styles that are really common on these cars, and that's because they are the ones that look the best. Most of the E30 guys that are really into the clean euro look are going to have similar stuff on their cars depending on the vintage (early and late body), and that's just fine with me. The more clean E30s the better. Don't bitch about it.

If this were an Alfa forum you wouldn't see guys with 1750 GTVs running Sportmax wheels and installing big ass wings because that shit doesn't fit the cars style or its pedigree. I think for the most part, the same is true for E30s and all of the now classic Bimmers. (Except for the god awful fucking Sportmaxxshitfuckasscrap epidemic that is currently sweeping through the E30 community... May it end as soon as possible.)
