Thanks man. Copper idea came from metalworking classes in college combined with my love for rat rods. Plus the car was bronzit before.

Bilstein Sports, GCs, and some heavy tweaking. Front's all the way up right now, full suspension travel. 8-)

Your car is downright fucking perfect. I wouldn't change one single thing on it. And thats hard for me to say on a diving board car. The flushed front bumper is so awesome looking. I can't believe nobody has done that before.

Can you give a further explaination of the copper process for those of us that know nothing about metal and oxidation/patina? You don't have to if you don't feel like it, but I'd like to understand the process better. How do you coat the car in copper? What do you use to form the patina? Does water effect the patina? Do you wash the body of the car? When you say redone, did you completely recoat the car in copper? How hard is it to do, and how expensive?

I remember reading about the car as it was going through the process. I do not remember where I read it. Its been kind of cool to see it as its progressed with the oxidation. I would rock that setup any day!

Thanks man. DB cars get a lot of crap and I was determined to get them to work for me. I'll be fully realized when I shave out the sidemarkers, but I always seem to have 2 or 3 other projects lined up before that one. It'll be easier when the other bumpers are on and I can plastic weld at my leisure.

As for the copper, it will all be explained soon enough. ;)

You better be proud, that is a super dope carriage.

Are you gonna clear cote it?

The front's of e30's make me cream for days.

                  Get MHW's.

                  Shinny patina'ed exhaust.

                  Copper and white roundel's.

                  Paint Calipers copper (patina?).

and finally get euro bumpers and patina them, and maybe your kindeys too.

Hey, I want to compliment you on your car, I have been in the VW scene for a while and fell in love with the rat stylz but my love for the e30 took over and I am currently trying to build it up and when I saw your car I got so much inspiration. Awesome!

                            rear bumper strip mods

The front signal/plate recess delete is in fact a rear bumper strip modified to work up front.
It looks awesome. I have an extra rear strip in my garage - what were the mods?
