Finally, out with the bronzit, in with the schwarz

So some might have caught the post I made a few days ago about picking up an alpenweiss 4-door. The seller ended up flaking out on me, so today I picked up a 1989 2-door schwarz. Here are some pics as I brought her home, and pics of the torn apart bronzit that will be going to the scrapyard later this week.

The schwarz car is an automatic which I will change when I change motors with the manual tranny and pedal box out of the bronzit car. The paint on the schwarz car is decent, but got egged a couple months ago so there is a spot on the roof that goes down to primer. The beauty about single stage black, is that it's the cheapest easiest thing to respray. Automotive black is black. At least that's what I understand.

She drives, nice interior, 157k on the clock, all the electrics work, the tint job isn't too horrible, can't find a spot of rust anywhere, and after looking at about 15 cars over the past three months in worse shape, all over 3 or 4 grand, picked this one up for 1300$ cash money.

    on to the pics:

This one has a small crack in the windshield, so I'm hanging on to the clean windshield I have left in case it decides to grow. Before the swap (most likely a m30 - probably next year), I need to put in all the suspension goodies I have lying around (IE stgIII, konis, every poly akg makes, cabby/m3 sway combo, new bearings and brakes, welding up the subframe, etc).

Luke, I'll bring it down to the shop sometime in the next couple weeks when your workload is light. I need you to walk me through getting an old viper alarm with a mind of it's own out. Plus the stereo is possessed, time to buy that panasonic headunit and run some wires. P.O did a hack job and ran wires on top of the carpet, it's a mess. it sounds like severely blown speakers, a bad antenna connection, and a short all at the same time. I'll talk to you about it offline -- maybe we can strike a deal.

                    Decent find, enjoy her.

Muffler may be a chick magnet, since it looks like a semi-flaccid you-know-what.

I was wondering, how does the Equinox drive?

Yeah, the P.O. listed the "new" muffler as a selling point, I rolled my eyes and asked him why he didn't keep 2 outlets, he said it was cheaper to have one. Whatever, with the engine change, I'm sure I'll swap out most of the exhaust. But for now it's functional.

equinox is company car, worst turning radius on the planet, difficult to park in tight spaces, shit for mileage, and big a-pillar blindspots. Not enough cubby holes for crap, otherwise it's a fine mobile.
