Thanks for all the comments guys - this car makes me smile every time I see it and every time I drive it.
M88/3, which is the son of the engine in the M1 and the brother of the slightly detuned US version, the S38.
My bank account shuddered when it hit, but even so I was lucky on the price (more on that later).
I need to get more - I was at a local baseball complex and they ran me off before I did any hood shots. There are a couple on my BigCoupe page.

Thanks - and I did have the dual row conversion done by Haygood when I had the tensioner and rails replaced. It isn't a lot more (single row parts are expensive, so it offset the labor for the conversion) and the piece of mind is worth it when I'm having fun with the car.
