No...that was my original plan...mainly because I would be able to keep the GC coilovers I had, kick ass M3 brakes, and wheels because of 5-lug.
But after some research it didn't seem like it'd be the best thing for suspension geometry which I care to have to be as good as I can get it.
I got $2k for my brakes and coilovers from my M3 so it's all good.Comment

First time will always be somewhat scary....but the feeling of being out on the road course for the very first time is priceless and it's awesome fun.
I better see both your asses at an event soon now that it's cool out. Don't worry about wrecking...DE1 is probably 3x safer than driving on the streets, lol.
And no, your tires won't be bald and brakes pads worn after one weekend. :)91 m3Comment

if you track the coupe i'll track the m3. if you track the 325 i'll track the 318, 323, or 325, haha :finger:91 m3Comment

I was actually kind of calm about it, especially because I didn't get hurt. A lot of the cliffs over there are deadly and pretty high. When I saw we were falling into something shallow I didn't feel much fear when we started going down and rolling over. At least a dozen people have died out there...probably most being motorcycle riders.
I don't remember what he had to say.
It didn't really hit me till the next day when I got really pissed off about what had happened.
He's paying me back for some of it. From what I recouped from parting the car + what he's giving me comes out to about the price the car was worth...that's not including me keeping the engine. So it came out fairly well I think.
Here's a pretty cool video of the first half of Tortilla Flat...

A year earlier I curbed it pretty bad, and insurance totalled it. They gave me $13,000. Bought the car back for $3,000 and fixed it myself for about $3,000. (Fixing included some suspension mods, new wheels, and some sick tires;))
Yah, that car had gone through some shit. Real sad too since it was mint before I curbed it, but I guess that didn't matter since it went off a cliff. Knowing is was a salvage title car made it a lot easier on me when it rolled. I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't.Comment
