i want to take my m3 out to a track day, but i'm scared :-(
First time will always be somewhat scary....but the feeling of being out on the road course for the very first time is priceless and it's awesome fun.
I better see both your asses at an event soon now that it's cool out. Don't worry about wrecking...DE1 is probably 3x safer than driving on the streets, lol.
And no, your tires won't be bald and brakes pads worn after one weekend. :)
Nice work man! i wish i had the mechanical knowlege of some of you guys. I would love to do a swap some day.
I have a M3 and a 318is and i love the way the e30 drives but hate how slow the m42 is. Its really not that bad but the M feels so fast after driving the 318 around for a few days.
Your car makes me remember how there is always a better car then your own.
Good work all around.
Any plans for brakes?

I'm a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles, but THAT picture makes me want to track it.
Seriously, guys, you just HAVE to go out on the track. Everyone feels a bit anxious at first. You've just got to go for it. Once you try it, you'll kick yourself for waiting so long.

QFT. You won't wreck or damage your car. Just stick with a reputable organization that's known for their safety record, like the BMW CCA.

That 318is is great fun on the track...and can be a lot quicker than some of the "fast" cars in the right hands. You don't need big power on the track. Excellent chassis balance is the key.
After running a 360 hp Evo VIII on the track for a couple of seasons, I eventually went back to my E30 track car. It's SO much more fun through the corners! And I can keep up with (and even pass) much "faster" cars. It's best in the rain, when high-hp cars lose a lot of their advantage.
