It's not the high compression ratio that's the ass pain, that can be fixed easily with one of VAC's thicker headgaskets and/or low cr pistons. The M42 is rarely turbocharged because few people have done it, so there are no bolt on kits that make it easy. Engine management is also a pain in the ass if you haven't messed with a standalone before and they're $$. Then tuning. The Tec3 setup with Vias tuning is definitely the method to go with if you can afford it.
