That interior is not cardinal, but actually "Cherry Red". A little know fact, but you mostly see Cherry Red in White 533i's (83-84). Cardinal didn't come until (I believe) 85 or 86.

Looks like a nice clean car with lots of potential. Good luck with it.

but before all the modding can begin, I need to do some maintenance ... idle is way high (vacuum leaks most likely from what I've read on this site), brakes need work, has a small oil leak, shift linkage or bushings make it hard to get into second gear, need to remove the ancient and non functioning alarm system, etc. ...
