I was looking into a m30 for it. The only problem is th e renault transaxle thats in it wont take a m30 with out a custom bell housing. It will take a e36 m3 engine though.

I wouldn't take an E36 M3 engine.. It's relatively torque-less and too revvy to pull all that weight. M30 would be best.

A really strong transaxle by Renault is the tranny off of the Lotus Esprit V8. I have one in storage, and I got it for 150$....

A BMW V8 would be nice, the engine off of an X5 would be cool... :D

I work at a VW dealership and was thinking that the Toureg TDI V10 would be a great motor to put in it. 700 foot pounds coming from that monster.

Looks like a cool project, theres one just like that that is blue that I see every year at the indy 500. The TDI V10 would be awesome, but it would probably be easier to fit a supercharged (for more torque) m52 or s52 in there.

Stick with the engine it has. You dont need a fast RV! Plus, thats unbelievable gas mileage. Sick project!
