From December 8, 1995 to May 28, 1999 Montana's daytime automobile speed limits were "reasonable and prudent", according to interpretation by Highway Patrol officers. Fines were increased and motorists were advised to drive carefully according to existing weather and road conditions. American speed enthusiasts were delighted and the state's Interstate highways got a reputation as the Montanabahn. Congress was not amused, and neither were many Montana residents. With a little help in potential Federal funding restrictions, speed limits were restored. Montana's maximum speed limit is now 75 MPH on the Interstates - check with Montana DOT for current speed limits, road condtions, etc.

This Law states that vehicles shall be driven in a reasonable and prudent manner depending on the conditions at the time and place of operation. Conditions considered in enforcement include: traffic pattern, vehicle condition, and roadway and weather conditions.

Oregon doesn't have speed limits. We have what's call the "Basic Rule". Basically, you can drive as fast as safely possible given your car's condition, the road's condition and your condition (drunk, tired, etc). We don't get speeding tickets, we get "Violation of Basic Rule" tickets. If you can prove the speed you were doing was safe, you can get out of a ticket. It's pretty much impossible though as there is no hard evidence (usually) to back up your claim.
Anyways, back OT, I agree, 100 on a windy road is bad. But I also agree that we all have done it (well, maybe not a windy road), but that also doesn't make it ok.Comment

lol diabeetus hahaha. drive 55 and you won't smash the beehive.
That's a joke right? I know people in central and eastern Oregon drive as fast as they want because there just isn't that many cops out there and they are all just a bunch of hicks and rednecks (mostly), but Oregon has like the slowest speed limits in the country. There is the "basic rule" but that's only in addition to the speed limit law which basically means if its raining and shitty (like it usually is in Oregon) you should be driving UNDER the speed limit at a safe speed and a cop can pull you over even if you are going the speed limit if he thinks your speed is unsafe. You can't drive over 65 on rural interstates and 55 on all other highways. Also its 20 past schools day and night whether its in session or not. I've never heard of a ticket being thrown out because you proved you were driving safe because speeding is not safe!Oregon doesn't have speed limits. We have what's call the "Basic Rule". wow going 100 on any road smaller then a freeway/highway is just plain stupid. especially since u said u were chasing someone else, u're lucky no one got killed. there is a thing called logic, it helps u make rational decisions, u should look into acquiring this skill.Check out Undr8d Empire on Facebook: www.facebook.com/Undr8dEmpireLlc
