    2 Step. 2 Step. 2 Step.

He's some of the progress on my ix ive been working on here in the last couple of weeks.

Pretty much what im doing here is adding a steering quickener into the column of my car. I took my headers out to get them ceramic coated. Rebuilt my shifter everything. Mod my z3 1.9 lever to be a bit longer and took out the shitty rubber bushing and replaced it with a jb weld bushing. fells great. Im also replacing trans mount engine mount and pretty any piece that contains rubber in the drivetrain. The Ix has 3 guibos thats getting replaced. and lots of other little things. I just got the harness in the car the other night. Took a min to figure out how to take them apart. I have some coilover on the way with spring rates of 525F and 675R. The thing on top of my windscreen fluid reservoir is my no oil filter housing. i tried putting one out of a 540 in but it was just to HUGE. this piece will work out great. Im waiting on lines to come in to hook it up.
Ill post more pic as i come along with more progress.

    Enjoy,
    zach.

Is it variable? I like that idea. Did you do it due to rack swap inability?

I lengthened the top part of the pivot point once it was out of the original rubber bushing. By welding a couple of washers perpendicularly on the end of it extended the lever and also will help keep the jb weld from coming loose. So far i have prolly 170 dollars in the quickener. Its a coleman 2:1 quickener i picked up of ebay for about 125 bucks new. and the rest in material. The shifter was quite easy. I took it apart cleaned the left over rubber gook off then put it back together with jb weld replacing the sloppy rubber. Also added akg's ply bushing which did wonders for taking out slop in the shift console. I also did the rear console bushing with jb weld. helped a little. I replaced every the piece that goes onto the selecting rod also.

No its not variable. that would be pretty sweet. but its 2:1. Right now its almost 4 turns lock to lock and it will cut that in half. I didnt come up with the idea either to put it in an ix. Its been done before. If you look in circle track and dirt track and ext catoluge, there are many parts which are universal that can be used on our or any car.

Finally mounted the oil filter housing and adjusted valves, did water pump, timing belt, plugs (NGKR iirc), had the headers coated inside and out, new thermostat + hosing, replaced cam seals, flushed oil and coolant, new coolant reservoir, and am waiting for GC to get me my fucking COILOVERS!! PISSS! and finish the interior shit.

haha, open headers ftw. I blew a huge hole in my resonator a couple weeks ago, it was almost a straight pipe (only cat) and if i could run it like that I would. well maybe a bypass valve so i could shut it up on the freeway. :)
