Well, little bit of an update.

Removing the rear end is moving along, the rear subframe is ready to come out.. Oh wait no its not because I can't get the fucking e brake cables out!

And I threw the basketweaves on my 325, it chirps second like a champ.

      Updateeee!

Basically i've run low on funds. I've had to pay my lawyer and bills and everything else. But now we're back on track. I've ordered GC Coilovers, Por-15, and brakes. I ran the stereo wiring today and started putting the interior back together. I'm going to vaccum it out, it looks like shit and needs a steam cleaning.
I have a Greddy E-Manage that i'm going to start wiring, once I get the diagrams figured out.

            Update: Working on the C.O.P

It's not that pretty, but it's alright.

I got a piece of 2.5 inch 6061 aluminum from work, a 1 inch arbor, M6 threaded rod with hardware all for about 10$ and got to work. Ended up with this beauty

I was going to use S52 coils (and still might) but they'll require a mill to make them fit, so I might just get M50 coils.

We should start a $350 e30 club - thats what I paid the junkyard for my 1991 325i. Had to rebuild the engine, but it makes you feel good when you finish and drive a car that you did the all the work on. Good luck with your car - that first drive on the road when it is finally done is quite a thrill!

Update: Ordered IE Street rear subframe bushings and upper strut mounts. All I need is coils, and brakes and then I can drive it.

The subframe was a bitch to get out, there is a piece of the bushing stuck, but I got a carbide burr to get it out, it's going to fucking eat that thing like a prostitute eats cock for coke!

                    Mmmm, 300 for the car.

200 for the bushings and mounts
                    and 30$ on stereo cable

530$ and I need probably 250 for brakes.

                          Nice score ;)

Not an E30, but is my trump-card for this thread.. My $256 E23 745iL Executive.. As you see it here, is how I got it, minus the rear bumper, apron, etc. well, it came with the car, just wasn't installed. Rattle-canned the apron, installed the rear bumper stuff, gave it a big-time bath, Luxol'd the Buffalo-hyde leather interior, and VIOLA! a 252hp @ 6psi and 27mpg highway.. 250$ for the car, 6$ for a relay (car didn't run, needed a main power relay)

I wish I had this car (and the car above for that price...plate says grey market? whats so special about it?). I'd buy these all day long for that price. Jealous? You bet I am ;)

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

It's factory turbo car: 745i E23 chassis. Europe ONLY.. back when you could actually buy a german-spec car, and bring it here. original paperwork and window sticker was like 73000 pounds back then, so about hi 30k-low 40k USD. Everything in/on it is in german, minus the speedo, which is MPH.. Very very rare car. M102 3.5L with a KKK27 turbo, factory external wastegate, SMIC, etc. A little ECU tweaking, and wastegate mod, along with a 3" exhaust will get you about 400hp.

Mine had the bold sections below:

The 745i was a special high-performance model offered in left-hand-drive European markets between 1979 and 1986. It was originally fitted with a specially-prepared 3.2 L type-M30 six cylinder engine and a turbocharger producing 10 psi of boost, BMW engine code M102. In 1984, the engine grew to 3.4 L, BMW engine code M106, produced 6 psi intake pressure, and produced the same power output as the M102 (252hp @ 4900, 276 lb/ft TQ @ 2200rpm.) These cars were all built with automatic transmissions (although there is documentation supporting how the ECU was modified at the factory to work with Getrag 5 speeds), and could be ordered with exotic options such as heated front and rear power reclining seats, auto-on aux interior gasoline fired heaters, leather covered cellular telephones, front and rear seat heaters, rear-armrest radio control, water buffalo hide upholstery, and burl wood trim. The water buffalo interior model was the Executive trim option, while the High Line trim package offered ivory leather interior trim including a leather dash board, sun visors, headliner, and other leather bits not offered on the Executive.

Only the 733i, 735i, and L7 were offered in America. As usual, BMW sold only upscale versions in the American market, with leather upholstery, cruise control, wood trim, power windows, power sunroof, and other options as standard. These cars were fitted with larger bumpers (to comply with Federal standards), smaller sealed beam headlights, and various forms of emissions equipment that were not found on European-market cars. American-market engines used lower-compression pistons and thus were less powerful than European-market versions. Some features such as ABS were available on European models before they were fitted on American models. Many turbocharged 745i models made their way into America during the height of the grey market in the mid-1980s.
