no, not really. the ironic thing is the pad I left on the bottom caused rust underneath it but the top of the spring with no pad was clean, although it rubbed through the powdercoating.

you should be able to pry out the spring without removing much, if anything you will have to undo the bottom shock bolt but the spring and pad should come out easily.

ive got the same suspension set up and i removed the rear lower spring pad and it sits perfect now.

Jack up the rear of the car, unbolt the shock, and the spring should come right out, remove the lower spring pad then bolt everything back up.

The upper or lower pad will give you the same drop... i chose to keep the top pad as my thinking is that the cone would aid in keeping the spring in place..

I gave her attention and cleaned her up....now i just discovered a leak (i think powersteering judging by the fluid) coming from the front of the engine....it was dark out so I'll have to inspect further. ahh well this is expected i guess.

Wow. Seeing things like this make me a little depressed about how much i paid for my car. I paid 5 times as much and your cars much cleaner and straighter and probably in very similar mechanical shape. :(

Looks awesome though dude. Its amazing what nice wheels do for a car.
