    New foglights, huge difference

I got tired of looking for a good set of used ones, so I bought a brand new set and ordered the 3M film from BavAuto. Props to them for getting the film out in just 3 days, fastest shipping I've ever seen from a US company by far.

Look at the difference compared to fogs which looked perfectly fine on the car.

I didn't bother going for the tripod, but look at the lighting difference.

Now they make a HUGE difference on vs. off on the street, I honestly could barely tell before. Hopefully with the 3M they'll stay this way too. :D

how much did they cost w/film? Im thinking about doint the same, but mine are the old style fogs, so I dont know how different the price would be.

I'm going to end up buying new ones as well. I've only got one on my car, and it's pretty pitted.

I have to install my new lenses, I want to put some Lamin X on them first though. But how much is the film you got from Bav?

Slightly OT, but I'm about to come into possession of a '91 318i. It has factory fog blanks; is the wiring for the foglights there, or do I have to wire them myself if I install them?

You can get double thick film from lamin-x... it'd be great for fogs since they take more of a beating than headlights.

                Those make a huge difference.

                That was worth the money.

Yea its there. Franz has done the retrofit, ask him if you got any questions. I'm planning to do one as well, but french fogs are hard to come by these days...

Yellow Lamin-X is what I have in mind for that.

Do what I did, kept the orginal housings and get yellow blubs. Hella Yellow Stars. It's definantly more yellow when turned on, and I love the glow you get from the driver's POV. Not soo much yellow when you look at it, but they aren't white.
The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

The fogs are like $100+ new, BavAuto has them for $110 (each).

I have Lamin-x on my signals and sidemarkers, but I went with the BavAuto 3M kit because they are very nicely precut for our fogs. There are indents for the screws, it goes perfectly around the round edges, etc. I didn't want to sit there hacking away at square sheets trying to mimic this.

The kit is on sale for $40.95 right now actually, and it includes 4 round shields for the headlights, a pair of shields for each the later front signals and longer old style (88's with the new fogs but old bumper), and of course the fogs. Really great stuff, I recommend it.
