thats a really conservative post. i didnt measure mine on my swap car, but the races bring it closer to 2"+.

      i believe h&r race is 315/570.

Dave, your vert had a perfect stance with the H&R race springs, however JustinB's vert has a reverse rake stance with the same suspension...you sure you werent running some drop hats in front? or maybe some clever photoshopping action?? haha

i ask b/c i want to run H&R race springs, but i dont want the reverse rake look, it sucks teh ballz.

Try posting something that helps next time. No one likes a uber scrote-tastically unhelpful comment as the one that was posted. No one asked what your personal thoughts and inquiries were on people who lowered their cars. But you jumped at the opportunity to come off as a used feminine hygiene product. You were treated as such. ;) Good day.

It sounds like the experience really sucked for you. I appreciate the fact that you are trying to protect me from the same pain. I am convinced. I cancelled my order and am going coilover.

Cracking your pan won't happen if you're an observant driver; unless something completely unavoidable happens, which is un-likely.

My vote goes to GC's as well.
Mine are cranked all the way down here (:() and it wasn't quite as low as I wanted it... It looks WAY higher than it really was becuase of no front lip though.

                      Here's my car on them-

WTF man? I have no reverse rake. The rear wheel tucks harder than the front (because it's pretty level with the top of the tire) because I have low rear arches like all late model cars. That picture was taken VERY low and across the street so the car is angling up towards me, you can't see any of the top of my trunk lid, whereas you can see the top of it in the first picture. I gurantee if I took it at the same height/angle away, you wouldn't see that much gap in front. It's really not there that bad and doesn't exist.

You're going off the VW crowd definition of reverse rake, that is if the rear tire tucks at all more than the front. Frankly, I couldn't give a shit as long as it still looks okay as a whole. The rear of the car is exactly a HALF inch taller than the front in that picture -- measuring at the rocker in front of the rear tire and behind the front to the ground. Without spring pads it's dead even with the ground but the rear tucks WAY too hard and looks retarded. That's the problem with low rear arches. People who try to get rid of gap in the front, or dump the rear and still make it look okay, end up with some ridiculously stupid fucking insane looking RAKE. Not reverse rake, but straight-up-RAKE. The first picture in this thread is borderline overboard IMO. I can't stand cars that look like a snow plow belongs bolted up to the front of them.

My car is fine thanks very much.
Here's the latest picture of it after everything is quite settled.

That is still a very low picture, clearly. It is looking below the arch and above the tire appearing to create more gap. If you can imagine a line though, the tire is almost identically level with the top of the fender IIRC. I certainly can't fit my fingers straight in over the tire like it looks like I could in my first picture I posted. The rear tire is tucked in probably about 1/2 to MAYBE 3/4" including the tread. That's a perfectly acceptable stance to me, and nowheres near reverse rake.

Oh, and I've considered a drop hat for the front for another quarter or half inch, but have entirely eliminated that idea unless I figure something else out. I don't plan on running stock wheels/tires forever, and could possibly lower the car a little depending on what tire size I choose later (but probably not), and I already scrape on speed bumps getting to work and over a friends driveway. I'd get straight STUCK if I was another half inch lower... lol

Unknown roads usually fall into that category of unavoidable. I'm guessing you know every local pothole/dip/bump/highspot/lowspot/manhole/whatever in town though, eh? :)

As far as hitting reflectors... mine was close, but not that close. I only wish I had kept the car longenough to make that happen.
Soon enough with the e28 though. Gotta get my stance on.
