Anyway, I wouldnt mind some specs on that. Sounds fun. We have tons of M42's and M44's at work. It's time to make a Frankenstein 4 pot.
It's difficult as hell to get the parts for it now I really screwed up when I sold that one (I thought I was done with cars).

I was referring to the 318is 2.0l though. I like M42's and always like to hear good numbers from them.

It was great... However you must understand that this particular m42 is bored (and dry sleeved) to 2L and was putting 155 to the ground. (I'm de-tuning it a little)

On a stock m42 3.73 is not bad at all on the cruse and will get better overall fuel economy but a tad sluggish out of the hole.

The paint on frankenkar car is, well, in a word, fucked.
the shiny part is an old partial re-paint.

I'm trying to put off the body and paint work...But it's inevitable and imminent.

Oh, just so you all know... I'm not letting the IS feel neglected:

Swaped out 3.73 med case Installed small case 4.10 LSD (came out of a 318is with only 55k on it....the 3.73 was freshened up new bearings and seals, LSD tighened up...new shit and transplanted into frankenkar).
