very nice - i was kindof waiting for somebody to post "it's an AUTO!?!???". But seriously who cares - swapping a 5 speed isn't very hard, and most of you guys are doing full engine swaps anyway.

This was a two fold blessing because, as you know, auto's aren't sought after, so the asking price was low. The car is for my wife, so an auto is perfect.

Good find man, that's clean as hell. I wonder if the color was matched properly when it was painted though, it looks blue-ish to me.

Thanks dude! Yeah, the color match is prolly 90% and the metal flake is prolly too large.

Yeah, bro she is growing fast! I'm sure you are seeing your own girls growing faster than you could have ever imagined.

As for the moonroof, let me know when you want it and we'll figure a way to get it to you :D

                  Yup, $2,000!

The seller listed her for $2,900. We exchanged quite a few emails, with him sending a lot of pics and a list of repairs and maintenance performed while under his ownership (since 1999). I struck a deal with him that was contingent on no major issues surfacing at the PPI. On my way to meet him at European Motor Works in Arcadia for the PPI, I got a call from him saying the car didn't pass smog. I said I would meet him at EMW anyway, since I was almost there.

Once the car was on the lift, I called Chris at BMS in Santa Ana cause his wife works at MagnaFlow and can get universal replacement cats at a reduced price. After some discussion, I faxed the Smog report to Chris, who called me back with this info: "it looks like the engine was cold when they smogged her, or it could be the cat, an O2 sensor, or something else...".

I offered the seller $2K, not knowing exactly what I was getting into. He agreed and I bought the car.

The next day I drove the car to work, then at lunch time I drove the car 6 miles to the local smog check station, where they immediately put the car on the rollers. It passed. Barely.
