      2002 vs. E30

      I see you made up your mind to keep the E30. Good call!

      I just sold BOTH my 2002tiis ('73 and '74) and now drive a 318is that I purchased for $1750. It's the "spiritual successor" to the 2002.

      I think driving an '02 every day is a lot like working in a chocolate factory ...after a while, you lose your passion for chocolate.

      In my case there are other reasons, too...my '74tii was rear-ended on I-80 and termed a total loss. I got some bad whiplash and have filed a PI suit. I bought the car back from the insurance company and made out reasonably well from the sale of the five-speed, LSD, etc.

      E30 parts are far more plentiful and a whole lot cheaper. I'm also at an age where I like little conveniences like A/C and power windows.

      Back in the 70s, when they were new, I lusted after a round-taillight tii. After owning my Inka Orange '73tii "roundie" for eight years it was time to let someone else be the "custodian." I'll miss it, but I've no regrets.
