The color is somewhat pearlescent in nature so what youre describing is standard operating procedure. Unless its been repainted and its over-the-top purple.

^ouch I hate to see an e30 in pain. And mine still has original paint ,my guess it dosent have any signs of it being repainted. Anyway def my favorite color for Db e30s I had to have one.

Well my search of what this color looked like came out good. Makes me want to got back to the original color when I do my respray. A po did a shitty job going to a pearl white.
